"You can't believe what you hear from the mouth of a serpent" Three weeks ago I broke up with a guy after 10yrs... Shit hurts like it just happened last night still. But he's a narcissist, who knew exactly how to create the trauma bond I'm fighting so hard to break with him... This song feels like it was almost perfectly written for my personal situation going on & describes lots of it. This song is painfully beautiful. Thank you guys for this poetry. Edit: As of 2023: I am in such a better place all around. Thanks for those who commented. Healing, growth, learning are all a thing & we all learn by doing or going through something bad. Narcissists are truly vile, so I pray for those who have been or are in those bonds. Fight for yourself. Youvr got this.

@@xshaylazero1026 I used "he" because you said "father". I apologize for any misunderstanding (if that's what happened?). And I did not mean to offend anyone. It was supposed to be a playful jab at the "father" that left their daughter. Sorry, again

As a survivor of narcissistic abuse, this song punched me right in the heart. In the best way. A good reminder to always be wary of men like that in the future. "You can’t believe what you hear from the mouth of a serpent" is probably the line that hit me the hardest. You're amazing. Thank you.

As a man I will say I was put in a similar situation, although it was both of my parents. I was robbed but Christ saved me. He did it for us. Put God first, because God knows what you've been through is what makes you stronger in the end. 2 Cor 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
