I was in the QEQM hospital in Margate back in 2019 when I heard two young male nurses/orderlies chatting in the ward saying something about "he's supposed to be a famous drummer but I've never heard of him". This pricked up my ears until I finally heard the name "Ginger Baker". I butted in saying "you're telling me that THE Ginger Baker is in the next ward?". I never got up the courage to visit his ward and he died there a few weeks after I got out.

One of the, if not THE, greatest power trio of all time. Eric Clapton's guitar, combined with Ginger Baker's manic drumming and Jack Bruce's cool bass and steady vocals, completely rule.
@jodachus10 жыл бұрын
On every 1, 4, 5 change, Bruce lands on the note and hits it twice--everytime! This makes for a thick bass--not just to the bass line itself, but for the whole song. It's cool!
@justintylerbomar80529 жыл бұрын
right it intertwines with the guitar and the two make one complete instrument that is how I encourage our bass player to write basslines that counterpoint the melodies, harmonizes, adds rhythmic variety ...he has come a long way.

For hours upon hours I would play my "Cream" records...this being a particular favourite. Over and over I would listen to it. I simply adored the music,the hypnotic lyrics and felt I could relate to it so,so much. I was never really "one of the crowd"...I suppose I really WAS considered strange way back then....after all,how many young girls in love with Elvis could say they preferred Charles Bronson??!!!.....I was far more into rugged than pretty,lol! I had school-girl mates back in the 60's who were then considered "cool"....but I'm afraid that was never me.....and I really didn't worry about it because I was always "me" somehow and knew it couldn't change. Strange Brew.......maybe a bit unpalatable at first taste but hopefully better with age??!!...lol!!! Sounds like a superb song.....bewitching,even!
@StuartJessiman9 жыл бұрын
The best cream song. As I move into later life I try not keeping turning back and listening to the old favourites and there is some great stuff out there right now. Yet, inevitably I find myself returning to Zepplin, Cream, Jeff Beck. Maybe they found the chord and everyone today are just rehashing it. When in the gym I get to hear the factory sound of the music industry's latest turn out. Sweet boy, beautiful girl singing songs that are so incredibly forgettable. It's awful. Anyway, back to Jefferson Aeroplane. Goodnight.

Absolutely, funny there is an all Japanese female band (Band Maid) who have a wicked rhythm section and the bassist Misa is a Bruce clone!! Try this one and see if you agree Take Me Higher LIVE ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHfcipyGeb-tmtk) kind of an appropriate title when we are talking about Cream. BTW forget the vocals unless you speak Japanese but listen to the musicianship of the rhythm section and tell me they can't some day be as good as that great trio!!
