This scene just killed me. I was bawling my eyes out. Imagining the little boy everything the boy has getting lost and none holding him. I have never seen birdie showing a lot of concern towards the scene where expect for sitting him in her lap in church. And when he says if aunt birdie would take him. It's like a knife through my heart.

Actually Birdee was affectionate to Travis when she first arrived and he was acting as a dog she kissed and hugged him so she does care but at this moment she's dealing with Bill and whatever shit he's about to throw her way.

Good fathers and father figures and the importance of them is under acknowleged. "Don't you know...I came over to say hi to you." A moment like that could have such an enormous heartwarming impact on a childs life. I love this movie, it's such an important,impactful movie.

Justin is wonderful! I admire him for comforting Travis. It makes me mad though that his mother couldn't make the effort to come to the funeral. I'm sure that the Hollywood lifestyle is demanding but family should come first especially your kid. It doesn't seem fair for Birdee having to take on the responsibility to raise Travis because she was going through her own struggles as it was.
