As a combat vet, I have wept amongst other men who were in similar situations, but they were short, usually alcohol induced situations, and if anything reinforced masculinity. The weeping was for the loss of good men sacrificing their lives having wives and kids, and survivor's guilt. Paying thousands of dollars for that is obnoxious and most likely undeserved. I however bear no guilt for being masculine. Just disgusted that there's a group of fiscally irresponsible men that pay to regret what they are supposed to be.

There are certain situations where it’s acceptable and not irritating. I’ve only ever seen my dad cry twice: when my mom died, and when his mom died…and he just got teary eyed and wasn’t sobbing. Maybe he sobbed in private, I don’t know, but he certainly held it together publicly. My husband cried when he saw me walking down the aisle to marry him and when our children were born. He also just got teary and didn’t blubber. Women understand that men have emotions too. We just don’t want to see men break down and act like drama queens.

That day he went off sports entirely for the rest of his life. And once when he was trying to till up a field for a garden. Not sure what he was doing because I didn't see it happen, I only saw the aftermath. A big shard of a broken glass bottle was sticking through the palm of his hand. Even then, he wasn't openly weeping, his eyes were watery. That was the first time I saw any look of pain on his face.
