Indeed make sure everyone reads and understands what one signs off on when putting one’s name on the contract or any contract. Our Parents would do contracts with us, and would not ask if we understood what we were signing or putting an ‘X’ on the signature space. And at times they would but something different above or within the contract and if we did not take time to read the whole contract then at times they would withhold our bimonthly wages for doing our chores/added in extra chores to do if we did not stand by the contract we put our signature on/etc. or if we did not understand the contract then we would get the older siblings to read through the contract step by step and asking us questions about whether or not we understood what was stated in the contract. Bc of our Parents guidance, 99% of my siblings read everything from front to back and if not understanding would get back to either the Dr/or whomever gave the contract for our signature. If they were upset, we would just leave and make an appointment for signature of contract and majority of the time we would have our lawyer come in with us but they did not know that it was a lawyer sitting with us. Easy to do if one has 15 Siblings 😂😂🎉🎉🎉😊😊 We never were easy to intimidate thanks to our Parents and older Siblings 😂😂😊😊🎉🎉

Judge Judy has said a few times in cases where they have to give something back, that if anything is done to it then their contract with the show is void. Meaning they will have to pay out of pocket for the trip to film the show (airline tickets, hotel, food, etc). Also no appearance fee.

If the plaintiff was lying, he could have said he paid the full amount, as he has a written contract from the defendant stating he paid in full. There is no reason to say he paid 1200$ unless it was the truth.

This is one of the most enjoyable JJ episodes. Her look and the waving of the paper is hilarious. And the defendant’s stupidity adds to the comedy. “I gave him all of it but 400 dollars “. This is what happens when two likeminded people do a contract. I actually believe the defendant but the fact he wrote a note saying paid in full is his downfall.

It's commendable that they tried to have a contract but the whole reason to have a contract is to protect you in court, and to have the exact agreement in writing. Why bother if it wasn't accurate?

What I usually like to do when making contracts at work is after I get a basic one written up, I will discuss with our patient. Then I will ask the patient if the money and dates all work, so if any thing needs to be added or change, we can do that before signing. After signing we both sign, then I keeo original and give them a copy. I then scan original and file in computer. Contracts are extremely important and you should never rush it. Many people tend to rush or over look since they feel if you keep talking it's going to potential make you loose a customer, however all I can say is contracts are meant to protect both individuals
