Love pronounced back says evol or evil. That's not a coincidence! This is why they say, "it's a fine line between love and hate." When you take your marriage vows it never mentions 'love' for a reason. Love is an fickle emotion. Love is not spiritual, it is emotion of deep like, it has peaks and valleys. It comes and goes. Its RESPECT and commitment that sustains relationships between men and women.

I disagree. I think one major element of love that people lost at some point was DEVOTION. Love use to be coupled with that. So maybe people don't know love, have experience it, or given it. When a person love another they are NATURALLY Devoted to them. But as we see nowadays people are just seeing what they can get out of the other aka a selfishness Selfishness is the opposite of what Love requires. Which makes me think now, submissiveness is what we hear men need/want most from women But I think above submissiveness, we need Devotion

@@inquizative44 Loyalty and Devotion is the same thing in my book. And I've never heard marriage vows that didn't include the word love. Plus you can literally write your own vows. I agree with alot of what you're saying about etymology. My Point in general was of the MEANING of what the word love means. Not the etymology. There is a word for love in every language. So the etymology of the english word for love falls short. Ppl who "fall out of love" prove that their love was weak because it didn't include devotion.

It's cute that you can make up your own vows but AGAIN no official wedding vows mention the word love because it's not about love. It's about financial stability, cultural stability and the proper upbringing of your offspring. Marriage is a duty and commitment. The wife can benefit if she stops thinking marriage should be like a movie or a fairytale. AGAIN, one of the major factors on why marriages fail is because you cannot get married solely for love.... Love is unstable, fickle and the passion of love naturally fades over time, don't mistaken love for lust. You have to acknowledge when the American marriages fail almost 50% of the time, something is wrong! You factor in "No Fault Divorce," feminism and the institution of marriage collapses. It's the children that are ultimately hurt and forsaken, especially boys because family court gives the woman custody 90% of the time when Father's are statistically better single parents than women. -Its been said a man will sacrifice his happiness for his family and a woman will sacrifice her family for her happiness.

Marriage is between two people. The government doesn’t decide to marry you the church doesn’t get to decide to marry you. And when you say, let’s get married and she agreed to it, it means the woman automatically submit to the man voluntarily. Which means the woman let the man lead the way, make the final decisions. If it’s the other way around this marriage won’t go far.
