If you listen to this with a headset/earbuds (and Mono audio disabled), the voices in Walker's head will be split between the two speakers. Lugo, Adams and the other marines are on the left, while Konrad is on the right. Meanwhile, all of Walker's lines are centred. The goal was to recreate the sensation of arguing with your conscious and add more weight to Konrad's line "No you did," which is his first line played as a centred track (as if Walker was speaking). Playing around with the dialogue and speaker settings was a blast, and it's one of the reasons I feel this tribute is one of my personal best.

A gray game masking itself as a hero simulator in a setting with no heroes. Beyond its critique on the gaming industry it was also an eyeopener to the senselessness of war. A reminder that stories of heroes were largely overshadowed by the ugliness of chaos. A gut-punch but a truth and something admirable from this game. I can always respect other games like Black Ops, MW and other settings for going out of their way to tell a story, but Spec Ops: The Line is one such that should never be forgotten. It reminds us not to grow numb with our perceptions of war. It is not so easily "black and white".

You could say, that Heart of Darkness is perfect base for any story with such a tone. No matter what media you will use. Cause thanks to Spec Ops: The Line, now we have it interpreted in every media that counts - book as the base, Apocalypse Now as movie, and Spec Ops as game.

@GenZ-Euronymous Жыл бұрын

@riiddisbuk2496 Жыл бұрын
I have a sequel in mind, but how the hell am I gonna get to Yaeger studios? xD Here's the concept; Have half of the game be Walker's mission in Kabul where he claimed multiple times to be one of the most chaotic missions he's ever been through until he traveled to Dubai, and the other half should be a protagonist that is a CIA Agent looking for Walker (if he has one). And what better a CIA Agent than a twin brother of Walker who looks and sounds like him. The game back and fourth has you play Walker in his mission of Kabul telling us the kind of man he used to be and the other character is you playing Walker's "twin brother" as a CIA Agent forever reminding us who Martin Walker used to be until he made it into Dubai. The story of Martin Walker in Kabul can give us deeper understanding of his professional relationship with Konrad and tell us how chaotic the war in Kabul was which can add a layer to Walker's character and his reason for wanting to take matters into his own hands in order to save Dubai. As for Walker's twin brother, he can be the reason why Agent Gould knew who Martin Walker was *(since Gould did not explain how he knew Walker)* because he was friends with Walker's twin brother and maybe how both of these brothers admired each other to the point where they became who they are. Only for those brothers to end up facing off. Again, this is all just concept. But it's a hell of a way to devise everything. For what is a sequel... AND a prequel. A unique game mechanic (not sure if it exists or not) would be so that everytime they face off, you can switch between these two brothers as the "boss battle" takes place. But that just depends. Either way, THAT is a concept I thought of for a sequel. What do you think? @@GenZ-Euronymous
@GenZ-Euronymous Жыл бұрын
@@riiddisbuk2496 i think we need to get you into Yager studios. I love your idea of a pre sequel, I would love to learn more about walkers time with konrad before Dubai, even more than I want to know what happend after thr events of spec ops, that's a great idea. I'm not sure about the whole twin brother story line tho, or the boss battle thing, spec ops was always more about thr story and the experience than the being challenging in gameplay, if a sequel ever comes i would want them to keep it that way. but if we could get a better idea of his time before Dubai I think every one would like that
@riiddisbuk2496 Жыл бұрын
The boss battle part I think it works because that way you can choose between whom you are attached to more and why. A morality formula from Spec Ops: The Line taken to a whole new level. Walker having a twin brother for the "sequel protagonist" would work as constant reminder of who Walker used to be vs who he is now. And the closest thing to a "good Walker" (narratively speaking) after Spec Ops: The Line would be having a twin brother of his to keep that legacy going. @@GenZ-Euronymous

Idk i think it doesn't need a sequel Yager went in knowing that this would be the last spec ops game Like it would be kind of hypocritical to say that these war games are bad then be like "come bck next year for the next one!" And already the gams perfect

I could play no Russian without feeling a thing, a single mission. But this game is something that'll stick with, even though you think you're doing something right, your most likely killing people solely because someone pointed to a direction and said "those are the enemies, take them down". Whether it was the white phosphorus, or the crowd you either had to shoot at or shoot into the sky. This game is something everyone should play atleast once.

I have no idea if you read comments on this channel or if you log into this account at all... But I just wanted to let you know that this is hands down the best edit I've ever come across for this game and one of the most beautiful edits I have ever seen for a game period. I played Spec Ops a long time ago, the first time I thought it was pretty generic (perhaps I was too young)...in 2024 I decided to give it another go, and only then I realized how good the story actually is...the music, the enviorments, everything is just so perfect...such a loss that this game can't be sold anymore due to copyright and the company shutting down...and that we won't ever have a remaster either, because this title would be perfect for it. I went on your website as well (pretty cool btw!) just out of curiosity and I noticed you like to write a lot...as I said initially, I don't know if you still make tributes/edits or anything of the sort, but hopefully you still play video-games and in that case I'd like to suggest you a title called " SOMA ". It's NOT an action title, but trust me, I'm sure you'll like it (oh and also, go in blind...watch less pictures and trailers possible, it cost 1 buck at most so if you really hate it you won't be losing much, but I'm mostly sure that won't be the case). You know...indians thought photographs would steal your soul.
