I disagree. The only ppl who need unconditional respect from us are our parents. If I respect my husband regardless of how he treats me, he will take it as a sign that he can get away with whatever he wants (cheating, hitting, abuse etc) and that I will keep on respecting him. Not saying to not respect your husband, but there should always be a limit beyond which he will be deprived of it, and he should know that limit.
