Lord Jesus Christ, all that I have is yours. Take my life, my possessions, my time and all that I have and use them as you desire for your glory. Amen.

Reflecting on what we don’t have enough of can be where the challenge of true giving is. A doctor can donate a good amount financially however finds it impossible to make commitments of attendance at the church’s activities. An arrogant man will have a great deal of difficulty to be more humble. An impatient individual would have a hard time being patient to the people/ things around him. May we all be able to recognize what we don’t have enough of and still be able to share the little that we have. This is what was exactly shown in the gospel, the widow gave up the things that she didn’t have much of wholeheartedly. This also reminded me when God asked Abraham for Isaac to be offered which Abraham entrustingly obeyed. The widow and Abraham lived the true meaning of giving and were both blessed by God.

Lord our God, dear Father, may we be gathered in your light. Through your Spirit strengthen our hearts to hold fast to you, for you remain our help, our counsel, our comfort throughout our life and in all eternity. Send us Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, and grant that again and again we may find newness of life through him. Grant that we become attentive to him, who is risen from the dead and who will come again to complete the work he began in his life on earth. We remember your promise, O Lord God, and we remain with you. We have little strength, and through us as we are you can accomplish nothing. You alone can fulfill your promise through Jesus Christ, whom you will send to complete your works at his final coming. In Jesus Christ Name. Amen.
