Waldemar’s Perspective productions are like a combination of travelogue, sociology, psychology, geography, history, and art - all delivered in a style that is entertaining and accessible for the lay person. He gives the viewer the perspective of art history from both the forest and the trees, and as a result makes a strong case for his perspectives on art. It’s how every Art History 101 should be taught.

At 23:49. Yes, I've seen finer jewelry than what the Anglo-Saxons achieved. They're jewels from T'ang China. Just go to museums with T'ang Chinese bling and you will be amazed. Just as impressive as any Anglo-Saxon jewel--extremely intricate, exquisite, with the finest, tiniest details you will ever see in gold, silver and precious stones. T'ang Chinese jewelry was also made at roughly the same time as Anglo-Saxon jewelry, between 600 AD and 800 AD. You will be mighty impressed.

That book he's touching is very likely a faithful copy kept at the monastery for sentimental reasons, and not the real deal. The real deal is probably at the British Library, behind lock and key, where you have to handle it with white gloves.

Can u guys stop complaining about the ads and just appreciate the beautiful art and effort they put into this doc? Way better than the cap on TV now...unless you want more sjw bullshit??
@13minutestomidnight3 жыл бұрын
Well, this was on tv first - it's a BBC production. All the complaining about the adds is annoying, though. I mean, adblock exists, anyway, and it's very flexible. Watching a couple of ads seems fair in return for good content, but if a youtube channel exploits the ad system and puts in too many (like this one), why should the audience bother watching ads from them at all?
@patlong39033 жыл бұрын
October 2021 ... Still appreciate the docs being offered on KZbin more than what is offered on commercial TV, sadly even PBS. As for the ads, yes there are a lot of them. You can down load an ad-blocker (just remember that some of the individuals downloading these videos get paid a miniscule amount for the inclusion of the ad.).

The Christianization of Lithuania occurred in 1387, initiated by King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania Władysław II Jagiełło and his cousin Vytautas the Great. It signified the official adoption of Christianity by Lithuania, the last pagan country in Europe.
