Watch Tebogo take down Lyles in the 200. If he doesn't get awed out of respect for Lyles he can win it and so can Hughes. It could be a Tebogo Hughes Lyles podium.

My takeaways are the following: 1. Noah Lyles is one of the most self-motivated athletes I've ever seen. 2. The 200m is going to be the premier race of the championships. 3. Bolt's record in the 100m is going to stand for a long time.

Noah’s last 40 in the 100 is faster than Bolts. Noah would need to get his start up there with CC to get the record. CC has a chance too. Just needs a new coach to bring out his last 40 potential.

@@Donoloui Noah Lyles last 40m in the 100m is not faster than Bolt's, not sure where you're getting this information. Noah has sub-12 m/s top speed, while Bolt, Gay, & Yohan Blake are over 12 m/s. Noah is not in the same universe as Bolt in the 100m, he's way behind.

While I do think Lyles does need to improve his starting abilities to really attack his goals of a 9.65 and even 19.10 to a lesser extent, this 9.83 from Lyles really shows even more promise that potentially, he could break the 200m world record very soon. In my opinion, I think he has a real shot at tying or potentially outdoing Yohan Blake's final 100m in his 19.26 race. Now, I'm not sure that will happen, but it's definitely possible in my mind.

9.83 shows he's not fast enough to break the 200m WR yet. Still more than 2 entire tenths of a second behind Bolt in the 100m. Yohan Blake got close to Bolt's WR in the 200m, but he ran a 9.69 with essentially 0 wind (-0.1?), while Lyles with 0 wind is 9.83. Sure the win is the important thing and I didn’t see Lyles winning, medal possibility-yes!! However the time is what surprises me, definitely not the 9:65 but slower than I expected it would take, given how things looked in the semifinals!! Noah is certainly the best prepared runner in history as he regularly performs at his best or near!! He and his coaching team should bottle that formula!!

We are watching some of the best depth across the globe, ever. Tebogo is so freaking smooth, like he jogging. Lyles just officially snatched this gens goat status. The 100Wr wont ever be beat , but the 200 feels like it will fall within next 2-4 years.

I acually think the world record in 200 meter is in danger, because Lyles only ran 9:95 last season and broke 10 seconds only two times that year, yet he ran 19:31 at the worlds, so he is much quicker now. If he runs close to 10 flat in the turn, and goes into the strech, he might do something insane. I think he will go out on that track feeling like god, that nobothy can beat me, be totaly relaxed and do the unthinkable running a WR and howing off like only Bolt has done before him.

Hilarious how many Lyles haters there are on this channel. Lyles clearly demonstrates he's putting every WR on notice and all these comments about the silver medalist. Hilarious. Listen, Lyles is JUST figuring out the 100. Everyone else has been running it for years- Hughes, Tebogo, that Kenyan who never shows up when it matters, Seville even Coleman. NOAH LYLES is the one that's going to do incredible things. Everyone will be playing catch-up for the foreseeable future. And then it will be Erriyon's turn to cut his teeth on the 100. And let's not forget about the wounded Lion Fred Kerley who is also in the early stages of learning how to run this race.

Tebogo has a legit shot at winning the 200m. A silver medal 🥈 in the 100m for him at 20yrs old is unreal.. Ill say this... if there's no headwind, Lyles will run 19.30. But i Also think Tebogo can run the same time. I'm predicting a photo finish.

What I took away from this is - the men's 100m ain't what it used to be. Now everybody and their dog thinks they can win it. They get lucky once and suddenly they're claiming their going to break Bolt's record. Bring on the women's 100m!

I'm not a runner, I'll say this first off. But if Lyles won, that's says to me that his start has improved a bit. His start is his weak point, so I think he's going to run a new 200m PB. And there's a good chance he is going to win both.

Recovery after the 100 m clash is going to be very important fpr Lyles, Tebogo and Hughes. I think Lyles and Hughes have som benifit due to their age compared to Tebogo because of a longer training background (seniority). With that said, Tebogo is young and might recover just as well as Hughes and Lyles. Let's not forget the other contenders for the 200 m podium. Knighton, Bednarek and Fahnbulleh. I was very happy to see Hughes enormous joy when he realized that he reached the podium. Well deserved!

People are so easily influenced, Noah did the best he’s ever done to win this race, who else did that!? The guy who came second, that means several people performed less than their best!! Talk about things lining up just right!! How often can we expect such happenings when Lyles run!? Where’s the 9:65!? Remember Noah is trying to dethrone BOLT, to make Bolt all but a memory!! Just like a boxer who predicts a KO in the 5th, he needs to deliver!! Consider that Shericka Jackson is closer to FloJo’s records than Noah is to Bolt’s, yet what do we hear from her…speaks volumes!!

I think that if Lyles can hit a 10flat for his 1st 100m, his speed over the last 100m can beat Bolts 19.19. Either way, a 9.83 shows the work he's been putting into his start and that Bolts 19.19 is in jeapordy.

While that is true, 10.00 for the first 100 is pretty challenging given only Bolt has done that - however it would still require a historic close of at least 9.18s to then get the WR. Possible but I think to Jump from 10.1 high on his best days on the bend to 10.00 would be pretty wild

@@krsn6394but by data , his last 100m on his 19.32 was faster than usain bolt last 100m in his 19.19 , so if noah lyles happen to drop 0.1 of his first 100m , which is of course extremely difficult, he might manage to beat 19.19 bolt’s record

whew worlds has tossed a lot of surprises our way already. I have never seen so many athletes go down with hard falls. Fantastic looking stadium and track. Looks amazing. The 100m was a surprise. Fred K not making the finals was shocking but thats track. Anything can happen. Lyles did what he had to and won. His start is still not the greatest but for me his 100m improvement is more important in what it means for his 200m. He keeps lowering his 100m PB his 200m has to improve since he is already a beast in the second half of his race. I'm thinking he lowers the American 200m record again but bolts insane 100m/200m records....maybe next year if his 100m PB gets much lower he could challenge the 200m record but Bolts 100m record...man that looks untouchable.
