And nobody is even close to Bolt now lol. Difference between first and last in 2024 final is smaller than the the diff to his record.

Bolt gained far more from celebrating early than he would have from shaving the record. He not only broke the record, but injected unseen charisma and showboatint, and also the never ending question about what could have happened. All of that os even monetizable. It adds to his appeal. I dont think he regrets the showboating. It adds to who is.

Incredible to think that Carl Lewis's winning time in the 1984 final would've put him behind all 8 of the finalists from 2024.

athletics experts... what time could have made bolt in 2008 without the celebration after 70 meters?

Not an athletic expert but sharing here what Bolt's coach (an athletic expert and the best person to closely track Bolt's training, timings and performance) stated: Usain could have crossed 9.48 if he had gone all the way (without slowing down to celebrate).

@@jamesgeorge777 That is the most outrageously terrible estimate I have ever heard, and is absolutely not true. I really hope no one believes that lol. There are way better estimates from tons of sources that have a generally close consensus, none coming close to his 9.58 WR.

@@jamesgeorge777 bolt's coach didnt look at his split times then, he was behind his 2009 world record at every single 10 meter interval, if he wouldve run 9.48 in that race that wouldve required him to reach a top speed in the last 20 meters of 50 miles per hour, which is 22 mph above what his actual highest speed recorded was
