My barber just messed up my hairstyle since i was 14 years old. I was very frustrated and started cutting my own hair and made adjustments little by little. At first it was just horrible but overtime i knew what i was doing. Now i'm 20 years old. Now i just cut my own hair(even the back side). I don't feel the need to go to the barber anymore. I can just cut my hair however i want and its awesome

master shifu depends on what you want, if you don’t want to grow your hair out and are annoyed by your long sides but don’t want a fade either then try asking for a taper. The taper will make your face look tight on the sides which is a look you should be going for. If you do want to grow it out but the sides still annoying you then try brushing your sides back and keep it tight with some product

You can either shampoo it or just rinse it with water, the important thing is that you wash out any product that was in your hair before

When you say the back, do you mean the back near the top or the top near the back, because if your back hair was actually that long it would be over the neck.

He means the top near the very back. I just measured mine and it's about 5 inches and then the back near the top is about an inch. The idea is that the top long hair that combs over the back of your head meets at just above the bottom of your necks hair line, which is more important than the exact length.

dont have the band pressed against your head to tightly and make sure you remove it time to time and see how your hair is, i usually do it after drying and wear it for like 20 mins or 30 and then remove it no crease either cause its not to tight

Also, it’s worth looking at your day-to-day routine - are you washing your hair a lot? Are you blow drying a lot? There’s a lot that can contribute to dry hair!
