@@jaysmith2858 was brought in over the last couple of years and replaces other canoeing categories. Gone is the 200m sprint kayak canoe races. Which were fantastic to watch

@@BrettSirrell It's all about the views, sod the actual sport. Would they put obstacles on the track for the Olympic track and field 100m final? I think not. That's why the likes of 'breaking', surfing, climbing and skateboarding can get included in the Olympics, but not squash, and I'm not even a massive fan of squash.

​@@jaysmith2858wait until you hear about the hurdles 😁 That said, I agree I don't like this format - there's a lot of barging that doesn't feel right. If they want a race with multiple people on the water, use flat water, if they want white water, do time trials so that they don't hit each other.

@@jaysmith2858hurdles…. Just joking tho. An I’d rather watch surfing and climbing then sprint or kayak cross. It’s a shame that views is what seems to determine which sports are selected. I hear squash may be joining next time!

@@AylaP4161 it never looked like anyone was actually going to overtake anyone. it was just a weird time trial. would anyone actually compete in this if they thought they could win the medal their peers actually respect and care about? of course not. fake astroturfed stuff.
