@@hw_throws8542 I experienced it a couple of times throwing indoors in high school at one particular facility, a circle made of wood that felt like a sheet of ice. It was a very wild day needless to say each time we went.

Bro i swear Storl can cause an upset against Walsh , Kovacs anf Crouser . He just needs to be a little more explosive out of the back of the circle, if Ulf Timmerman can throw over 22 and 23m using a glide technique then i dont see any reason as to why Storl can't do the same thing.

The ring is one thing, also the difference between the outdoor and indoor shot put is the size. The biggest outdoor shot to throw is a 129mm vs an indoor would be 135mm, not to mention, the indoor shot put is made of rubber mostly

@@alpha-omega74 I mean it seems like they throw with normal iron balls, and you can throw with the size of the shot what you like, so I dont think it is because of that.

@@jansvozil1599 indoors they throw a shot made of stiff rubbery like plastic, and the diameter is slightly larger. And no they can't throw the size they want, there are strict size requirements the shot must be within. Most of the situation here was the circle- it was very slick. Many indoor circles are made of wood which has a different feel from cement. Looking at the cadence of how the event was moving one problem was how slowly things were going. Throwers- shot putters in particular- prefer an event that moves smoothly and quickly. This was a very slow run event which will irritate the guys.

@@saragrant9749 Yeah but indoor shot and outdoor shot are in the same boundaries-110 to 130 milimetres. They can pick which one they want if it is within those numbers. And it can be from same material as outdoor one. But maybe it is different in USA

@@jansvozil1599o, they aren’t. You are speaking to a master level certified official, certified in weights and measures and who has done implement inspection for more than two decades. I know exactly what the difference between the two shots is, and there is a small size difference in the indoor shot due to its construction materials. The measurements you listed are ONLY for outdoor shots.

Difference is the implements being thrown indoors, running event lengths, lack of impact by the weather (wind and or rain). Indoors the throwers utilize a hard rubber shot versus the steel one outdoors. Many places can’t contest meets in the winter, so indoor track was born- but it requires its own set of requirements and regulations.
