This scoring system was so much better than X Games. There was no vagueness with how the score was calculated and it created way more hype knowing what tricks needed to be done to improve a run.

I rarely ever post anything on KZbin. But wow, this has been so much fun to watch. It's such a great event. The setup, the riders, the scoring system, the live stream. I literally enjoyed spending my time watching this for hours straight. Burton really nailed it. Thank you and thank you Jake Burton, for your legacy. Already looking forward to next year. Yeehaa!

This was just an all out amazing contest. Not gonna lie I was a little scared for Dusty going into his 2nd attempt. A quad is no joke! Thanks so much Burton once again. BTW Mark McMorris is really coming into his own in the booth and I hope to see more of his commentary and analysis in the future. Edit: As always thank you as well, Red Bull, for all that you all do for the action sports community.

i play a lot of steep, and i dont quite understand the namings of certain rotations. what qualifies the trick to be a "cork"? ive seen where a flat spin is just labeled by the number of rotations, but i never quite understood how you could have a triple cork 1080, but only a cork 1440 or something. stuff confuses me. is it because they get inverted?
@cvp58824 жыл бұрын
Depends on how many times your axis of rotation spins. So you rotate on axis 4 times its a 1440, but if the AXIS of that rotation spins twice its a double cork, 3 times its a triple and so on. Watch Dusty's quad cork from that angle straight down the kicker and watch how his body rotates in a corkscrew (helix) motion. That was a sick angle of that 1800 quad by the way. Shows how much torque he had to huck into that hit.

I agree fully. They justified it by saying Red had a tighter rail section, but come on... you can't ignore THAT many absolutely SENT airs with such well-executed huge spins. Every time he went air-borne at all it was like a rocket ship. Plus he has a controlled and fluid style on everything.
