The hard wax is considered “painless” because it doesn’t adhere to and rip your skin like the soft wax. It only adheres to the hair. Still painful though lol but with hard wax you can go over it multiple times until you get it all unlike soft wax.

Well, there are some pre waxing tips to make the procedure less painful. Firstly, you are supposed to apply baby powder over the area as it absorbs moisture and also prevents the wax from peeling out the skin layer . Secondly, stretch and pinch massage the skin area nicely before applying wax as it will make it ready to endure the sudden impact of hair uprooting. And lastly, if you got thick hair strands then don't apply the wax on whole of the armpit at once. For thin waxing coat Divide the upper half and lower half area of armpit in 2-3 ranges. And for hard wax, Start with small patches of area from the sides... Hope it helps...

I started growing hair on my legs and arms at age 13, waxing was so painful I had my dad apply the hot wax on my legs, underarms and upper lip and use cloth strips to remove. As pay back, I was allowed to apply one strip each on his shins (my dad has the body hair of a chimp) and today he has zero hair growing on an area of his shins, you see a perfect rectangle of missing hair there.

So I’m a licensed esthetician, and the difference in the wax is soft wax (using a strip to take it off) and hard wax (no strip). Hard wax is better for sensitive skin because it only dries to the hair and not so much the skin. Soft wax sticks to it all! Hard wax works better with thicker hair and not so much with fine hair. Soft works for all the hair types.

I felt the pain being an esthetician myself when I first got it and was practicing, the first one you used was Soft Wax which you apply in the direction of hair growth and pull the opposite direction with a strip and the second was Hard Wax which you can apply and rip any direction because the wax grabs the hair not your skin, soft wax grabs your skin and hair. Apply witch hazel before and after waxing, always wear gloves!! :p and the blood is normal it’s just pinpoint bleeding, oh always apply the wax at a 45° angle. Soft wax must look almost clear when applied but with hard wax you can put a good amount and do a tab for the pulling! And to remove excess of wax you can just apply massage oil, and always test the wax on your wrist before applying it to the person or yourself, it can burn you real bad. Loved the video!!

the bleeding is called pin point blood. it means you got the root and bulb of the hair. the more you wax your hair, the thinner the hair will be. you do want to put baby powder on before so it creates a barrier between the skin and the wax so the wax does not pull the skin off your body.

a week late, but make sure all the wax is spread in the same direction and pull against hair growth... ;D this is coming from a state licensed Cosmetologist. I know you guys do a waxing video here and there.. oh and apply pressure directly after to the waxed area to help prevent bleeding, and aloe after wards. Oh, and also repeated removal of the hair follicle will result in no hair growth over time, so be careful haha.

Lio GAL you’re not supposed to use soft wax (wax with strips) on the face. It adheres to the skin as well as the hair, so it is used for legs, arms, chest, back, and buttocks. Hard wax doesn’t adhere to the skin, just the hair so it can get the fine vellus hairs.

I was going to say all of this. The other thing is that, ideally, you pull with your hand as close to the skin as possible, so you're pulling the wax backwards, rather than out, if that makes sense. When you first rip it you quickly put your hand over the part you rip so you wont bleed and also for the painless wax you don't let it sit there for like 30 seconds so once it first gets hard you rip it because if not you're going to let it dry and it's going to make it get more hair in the wax going to get deeper into the follicles of the route is going to take out the hair from the root to make it more pain.

Uh oh guys you didn't put the wax on properly! And armpit hair goes in two or three different directions. I'm an esthetician and when I wax the under arm I have to do it in two strips at least. Unless you use blue wax. And it's not painless at all it just won't harm the skin like traditional strip wax. Apply the wax with the direction of hair growth then remove against the direction of hair growth!

Hard wax lifts off your skin as it cools, instead of pulling hair AND skin like the warm wax. I only use hard wax bc my skin is very sensitive and will break out if it's irritated. While it's not painless, it definitely causes less pain in the long run for me.

The thing with wax is that it does make your hair grow thinner so the more you do it the less it hurts, also there are technics to make it hurt less, like using baby powder before and oil after to chill the pain, it's so relieving. After I get my legs waxed in institutes, they massage them with oil afterwards and it feels more like a spa day than torture

laser hair removal was kindof shocking (no pun intended) but it definitely worked and i'd rather go in and get lasered 3 times and never again, then go in for waxing for $80 once a month. You should try laser hair removal!!

As a training Cosmetologist, I can tell you that this waxing was done VERY wrong! XD You need to hold down pressure over the strip while the wax cools so that the wax can both sink into all of the hairs, but also grip the strip before you rip. I also observed that the wax was applied against the grain for the first guy and that's a small part of why he actually lost skin. Like...please, for the love of God, do not do this yourselves again. There are so many vital arteries in the armpit, it's not even funny. You've been warned.
