Cat calling is a no go and asking teens when they turn 18 is disgusting but telling a woman she is pretty is a compliment. I like it when tell me I’m pretty but all that extra “yo mama what’s up….” is what’s irritating.

Men don’t realize how uncomfortable they make women when they catcall. I cross the street and try not to make eye contact when I see a group of men. I remember being in NY and ignoring a man who catcalled me, it quickly turned into a verbal argument. I ended up calling the police and getting a escort to my car.

I was getting food the other day and I was catcalled but this older man, and I completely ignored it and rolled my eyes. Mind you he was sitting by an older woman and another older man. I walk by them again after getting my food and I’m staring at the man in disgust who catcalled me and he’s looking at the ground QUIET. The other man by him says I know that’s right you have a blessed day. LOL I guess something happened after I passed by the first time

The guy who said "She was asking for it, look at how she's dressed" That argument is not completely valid because I got sexually harassed while I was wearing jeans and a hoodie. The only thing that was showing was my stomach but that doesn't mean I deserved it. Plus he was 25 and I was 16. I even told him from the jump.

That is what I always say, that argument is not completely valid. I had a culture day event at my school where we were required to do research and dress like the different cultures that we were given and choose to do. I decide to do a African culture 'the Somalia People' and let me tell you I was in a long black dress that reach the ground , with something like a hijab that was covering my head and with a long black coat that cover the dress and plus I was wearing a black mask so the only thing you could see is my eyes. I was dress as a Muslim and do you know how much cat calls I got that day. So I really do not like when people say that. Once you show any sign that you are a woman you will get cat calls. 😱🤢🤮

It doesn't matter what someone is wearing, you should still keep your hands to yourself and stop calling out to someone just because they're attractive. If you want to speak to someone, go up to them like a normal person. If they like you then so be it but if they aren't interested just keep it moving. Instead, a lot of them get hurt and take it out on you by assaulting you or taking your life. It's never that serious but it's sickening this happens. That you have to be on guard when you reject someone, especially men. No means no. If you think someone has to give you a chance, men or women, you need help. QUICK. No one owes you anything. Get it through your head. All these women getting taken out because they rejected a man and he couldn't let his pride go and decided to confront her about it. It's very dangerous out here.

It’s insane that this is a universal experience for young girls and women growing up. It had gotten to the point where you expected to be harassed every time you walked outside the door and saw a group of men in your path. It was something we had to learn to navigate, deciding on whether we’d just ignore them or speak up. It’s sad to see how delusional some of these men are and some of them even tend to get angry when you don’t pay them any mind! Ugh, this is something that’s always bothered me growing up and it isn’t talked about enough😭

Ugh I remember when I was 12 at a public library sitting with my momma reading a book. To a lot of people now I still look like im in highschool so back then I must've looked like a baby. I randomly heard some barking like a dog and I look up and it was some random man that looked like he could be my dad barking at me while riding on a bike. He kept barking at me till I looked up at him again. I was so disgusted. Also I'm glad you had a good break and yes I missed you ❤️💞(ʃƪ^3^)

I had an incident yesterday when this guy tried to catcall me and lure me into his car. He had the audacity to call me crazy and called the cops when I reacted to him. Oh, and he got out of his car and tried to run me over (after I pulled a knife on him and kicked his front bumper). However, I did develop pretty early nd have always had a thick and curvy body. But still, ppl could tell I was just a kid nd yet these demons in skin suits felt entitled enough to cat call me. I used to live in a place where one of the roads to my apartment didn't have any alternative routes so I HAD to take it everyday. There was a guy who kept trying to talk to me everytime I walked past but I ignored him. One day I accidentally made eye contact with him and for some reason that meant something to him because the next day he was waiting for me in the lobby of my apartment building and he just hugged me like we knew each other. Luckily the security was there so he didn't do anything more when and I just nervouslu laughed and went past the barrier but I was so scared to go out for days after that, especially if I had to use that road. God was smiling down upon me because I only saw him again once after that and when I looked away and started walking faster he seemed to finally get that he should leave me alone. I have resting bitch face and I dress like a grandpa because I literally can't be bothered, but none of that makes these men stop. I'm glad I have a car now because it's reduced the amount of incidents I've had to deal with and that's much better for my anxiety and mental health.

Of course. If a woman says “no” and you press more than twice its is harassment. I just think it’s important to distinguish between the two. There’s shooting your shot and there’s harassment. Both technically fall under the category of catcalling these days depending on the woman. I feel uneasy about condemning/jailing men for approaching a legal woman. Unless we want to start approaching, but I doubt it.

A lot of times, one time catxalling is more than enough. People who just say hi or talk to you normally aren't catcalling. This is about men who yell and call you by something that is inherently demeaning. They will talk to you as if you owe them your attention or make slimy comments about your body or what they want from you. One time is still absolutely harassment
