A line like appropriate amount of freckles is the most woman writer line I've ever heard. I thought she was making a joke about writing a self insert character until I read the title.

Real life “she didn’t care about her appearance, which is why she looked very tired, unbrushed hair tangled and covering random portions of her face and wearing an outfit that was messily put on and the first thing she saw. She hasn’t showered ever and never brushed her teeth, so she has none, she smells like a dumpster on fire and she looks as if she is waiting for her next meal, because she was on all fours hiding behind random objects as if prowling.”

It's like if you finish the thought of the pop lyric "you don't know you're beautiful. That's what makes you beautiful." It doesn't sound sweet to me because if she starts to believe she's beautiful, has her beauty now ceased? And if she then believes she isn't, then the beauty resumes? Once I realized beauty was 100% subjective it was so freeing. It means I can choose whose opinion to care about.

@@thedevicebook Men don't like women knowing about their beauty because it could make them become too confident, but they still want a very beautiful woman that only they can appreciate. Much like in sex work, men like porn but will insult a woman for willingly doing sex work because it's her taking control of her sexuality and image and doing what she wants with it.

@diamond dogs dont forget that she wears her hair in a ponytail, so she can change it and remove the glasses to become hot and popular at around 40% of the movie because one of the popular kids, usually a boy, has to get together with her because of a dare or something similar just so she can have a "popular" new peer group who she thinks she belongs to now, but they are actually kind of mean, just to realize at 80% of the movie that her old friends she started to treat like shit are the real friends after she found out that the popular guy just cared for her becuase of a dare and she can get a 3. look that is a mix up of the ponytail glasses look and the sexy look and now at 95% of the movie she gets together with the guy who used her again because he caught feelings for her and she changed him for the better because thats how it works apparently and now everyone is happy ever after exept the "popular" peer group since she got revenge on them somehow.

A recent one I listened to on audiobook was Girl on the Train and it was pretty good because the main character was an alcoholic who had put on a lot of weight who sort of spied on people out the train windows. She was idolizing some other chick who was super pretty, but the chick turned out to be a real mess herself. No one was 'special' at the end of the day and it was actually a pretty good story. I like it when people can just be people, even if they're hiding secrets or whatever. I definitely notice the difference between that and say, Harlan Coben females. Every female he writes is 'so special and unique and only the main male character could appreciate how special and unique she is' and yeah she stuffs her face with food and never gains an ounce of fat on her perfect slim supermodel body which is so sweet and endearing, and doesn't wear makeup which only accentuates her natural stunning beauty, haha. and he was the only man who could truly love her of course :p

Who would read a book about a normal girl doing uninteresting daily activities?
@Vexarax
@Vexarax 2 жыл бұрын
@@hinamiravenroot7162 it's a fine line. Because ordinary people, with flaws and problems etc, can still end up in crazy situations or on the run from the law or learning magic or whatever depending on the genre. It's when you make the character perfect in every way to the extent it's unrealistic, and even their flaws are just cute little quirks, then make the crazy stuff happen to them - it's just too much and makes a book pretty boring for many people, mostly because it's so unrealistic? It's not about the activities they're doing, but about how the person is being characterized if that makes sense :)

She was voluptuous, yes, voluptuous. She was curvy and nicely voluptuous. She walked so voluptuously, her hips swinging back and forth because she was so voluptuous. She spent most of her time writing and looking down at the pavement- she was insecure. But when we made eye contact, she never looked away. Her hair blew in the wind voluptuously, she didn’t know how beautiful she was. She didn’t care much for romance, because her career mattered the most since she was so voluptuous.
