Bought this new in silver as my first bike. Really was the perfect amount of power to learn on but fast enough to not get bored of too quickly.

Agree with all the reviewers comments. I have a 2001 SV650S has 130,000 on the clock. Has a big bore Arrow titanium pipe, sounds just like a Ducati. Only maintenance was to replace wear parts. Never adjusted the valves, always use high grade synthetic oil. GREAT BIKE. Tires are worn to about 1/4 inch of the edge rim on the tyre.

@dave king I have the same bike at 55k and would love to see a video of how you've kept it going that long. and about the boring process. Thanks

I realised I had become old when I found myself looking at one of these as a second bike having not ridden one for about 10 years. You can have a hell of a lot more fun in one if these that any 1000cc bike. Yes, you won't get there as quickly but there's a lot to be said for being able to use all of a bikes performance, its such good fun.

I'm 54 and think the same. I've a GPZ500S for backroads. A 800 honda for distances. But I find taking the GPZ500S is much more fun. So I'm looking to get an SV instead.

Got myself a lovely silver 02 example in time for passing my test. 34k miles and all it wants is fork seals in the near future. Having done some riding in "mexico" I already love it. Very easy to ride having come from a 125

These little bikes really are superb. And you can fix and service them yourselves. Cheap and a classic ride too.

Im a retread rider, got back on 2 wheels after a very long haitus. Before I sadlled up again I researched what was considered a good to great bike knowing that yesterdays 750's and 1000s arent a patch on todays bikes and I came up with this little (?) gem. Its brilliant. It handles so well accelerates perfectly and does everything I need it to do. I dont track race, I dont dick around, I just wanted a commute and a bit of the occassional fang. Get one I recommend it. Unless you have a small penis and absolutely need to impress people who probably dont even know you and certainly will think you are a tosser. If thats the case buy a Harley

Agreed. I ride a CBF500 and I've a big donger too.

Does this bike feel like a rocket, or does it ride like a smaller cruiser? Very much considering this bike, but have no idea what it would ride like considering the fact it looks like a combination between both
@tazman86977 жыл бұрын
+Logan D: A bit of both really, It's all in the wrist. Mine has LSL bars which really make it more comfortable to ride. I have this, an 07 CBR600RR, an 06 GSXR1000 and an 06 SV1000 and this is still my favourite bike.
@rustyshackleford68745 жыл бұрын
The S is quite sporty, pegs ok but a reach to the bars, the N is the same but upright bars, no fairing. Torquier than a 600 4 cylinder, but still only a 650 so does like revs. More like a cheap reliable ducati or something than a cruiser

MyRandomLife247 naked version has better handling so you'll have more fun but trust me 0-60 is not 3 seconds :p especially on the naked

Wikipedia said like 3.6 or something. Dude it will beat most V8's and turbo cars off the line ;). That sweet V-Twin sound. I just like having instant torque instead of having to wind the motor up. There is an R1 for sale but its $12,000 which I would never be able to afford now, unless I get a full-time job.
@TheGeordieBiker9 жыл бұрын
MyRandomLife247 I'd say it's between 4-5 seconds and the instant torque is just what people say to justify it an R1 would blow it out the water ;) get an older R1 instead of the big bang?
