After 19 years of ownsership, (i bought it new ) the engine moves the car lively, without showing any signs that is worn out, and does not consume oil (!). The car was an excellent buy overall, and the reason am still keeping it is because it does not have issues. The VW Golfs of two of my friends, consumed oil since the beginning. The only downside is that you cannot put two adults back, but this is expected from a coupe. One and only major issue i had, and cost me 300 euros, was the need of rebuilding the alternator in its 12th year of ownership.

I had a 1.9 130bhp golf absolutely run rings around petrol cars of that era all why getting 50plus mpg...

I seen a used one I was considering buying only problem is it has 130k miles is that to much for a near 20 year old car or is it good millage for the year

130k miles a lot? :'DDD that's a good one! My 1999 megane estate 1.4 16v has 550k kilometers / 340k miles and it's now starting to have some problems with drivers seat falling apart and some water getting in somewhere.

it didnt have AC, I've just picked up a 2 litre convertible one with AC .. and its roof comes off why didnt the coupe have AC?

By being the base model and come as an optional extra.
