Actually the very first and original Hard Rock Cafe opened in the 1930's in LA . It was made famous by the Doors album Morrison Hotel and its how The Hard Rock Cafe restaurant chain we know today got its name.

I loved the Dallas Hard Rock Cafe when it opened in 1986 November it was in a hundred year old church and was a shrine to music. Beautiful stained glass of Elvis Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis a circular two story room and tons of iconic memorabilia. Hats off the Isaac tigrett and his original vision for his baby, why on Earth would he sell his baby to a bunch of short haired suits. It broke my heart. When the corporation came in and took it over out went the iconic stuff and in came crap like Britney Spears and Prince and other teeny bopper items. They tore down the original Hard Rock Cafe on McKinney in 2007 and replaced it with a real glitzy one in Downtown Dallas. There is no comparison, the new one is flashy but lacks the charm of the original Dallas.
