I've tried it, and honestly despite having tried countless amp sim, it's become one of my favourite ! I didn't have high expectations, but it's really responsive, simple to use (no endless menus etc) and versatile too. A really good suprise

I think it sounded pretty good. I didn't love the cabs/IRs, but the amp sim itself is pretty versatile and sounds convincing. Not to high CPU usage either. Kudos to Blackstar for pulling this off!

Wow! I have a Blackstar head&cab and in my opinion the plugin actually sounds better and I listened in a studio environment.

Hi Mendel, I think first of all was Peavey with the „ReValver“ wich is currently available in Version 4. You can change the Tubes and modify lots of things there virtually. 😊

Emissary amp by Ignite Amps was way ahead of it's time in this. But it's custom amp, not a full scale production

Nope, Ampeg has their own plugin! Pretty good too. 🙂 As far as "regular" guitar goes then yes, pretty sure it's the first.

Ampeg had done it before!

Hello, Mendel, great content, nice walkthrough of the plugin. I might be erroneous, about who's the maker, but technically Ampeg had a plugin of their products for a while now, bass amp suites, yet, it's amps too, right!?😅
@Mendelian Жыл бұрын
True! But wasn’t that outsourced by an external plugin developer?

@@Mendelian i wasn't sure, that's why I made the remark) seems it's was a third party developers' job, yeah.

@@Mendelian so, this plugin (Blackstar) is truly a in-house development?

@@Mendelian Technically it wasn't outsourced, Ampeg and Line6 are both owned by Yamaha, developers from the Helix team worked on the Ampeg Suite.

And what about Peavey?)
@Mendelian Жыл бұрын
Revalver already existed and then Peavey bought it, correct?
It seems that everybody want his part of the cake 😃. Amp sims are poping like mushrooms in the forest. That's kinda good thing cuz it will lead one day or another to lower the price. Cuz man, who will buy blackstar ampsim for 100bucks nowadayz? There are so much cheaper solutions, I mean SO MUCH. The amp sims hype is sinking. We need more actors like audio assault with their amplocker. W8 all we need is NAM after all 😆
@svelle37 Жыл бұрын
yeah I got myself an amphub subscription for 50$ for a year and also bought their 5153 sim and I honestly couldn't really ask for more. They constantly release new models, I don't have to buy them to try them out and if I do figure out that I want to have them forever I can get them fairly cheap.
@Scott_Mire Жыл бұрын
Nope.....Peavey made ReValver which has the 6505, 6505+, JSX/XXII, 3120/XXX, Classic 30, Valveking I & II, Sensation, Masterpiece, and all of the Budda amps. They released the first Peavey version in 2007.
@Mendelian Жыл бұрын
I believe Revalver already existed before Peavey bought it if I’m correct 🤔
@Scott_Mire Жыл бұрын
It did....but Peavey did add all of their own amps when they bought ReValver...and I do think they were the first amp manufacturer to actually have their own amp modeling software.

I think this plugin is better than amp itself.Sounds different but forces you to use only IR you don't want at the moment.And price is high.They will loose on it.

$100 for 2 channels\amps. few cabs and a bunch of FXs is not a bad price imo. but a tuner in a standalone would be nice haha

Not bad but the ampsim market is incredibly saturated at the moment. This doesn't offer anything that Neural, Mixwave or even Helix Native doesn't do. I'll pass.
