The guitar tone on this EP is probably the BEST I've heard ever...you're killing it, Mendel! \m/

Hoi Mendel, ik zie in je recente videos de Adam a7x en hier a77x, vond je die a7x beter in je room passen, of kreeg je klachten van je buren (low end noise), kan ook,hahaha..;)
@Mendelian4 жыл бұрын
Hey gozer heel simpel: De a77x waren te groot voor mijn studio ivm phase problemen en te veel laag (kon niet genoeg ruimte vanaf de muren onder andere). A7x klonken dus beter in mijn kamer :)!

I bought an 8 string specifically to be able to handle a .80 lower gauge, and since then I'm finding out that you can even use a 6 string to tune down to F# effectively... wasted my money, since I only use my 7 string lately anyway. I guess the 8 string looks cool hanging on a wall though!

Unless I missed it, there is no compression at all on guitars? I know this is 3 years ago but now people are parallel compressing guitars. This is all new to me but I'm glad to hear a good guitar tone come from a bit of a simpler formula

I can't thank you enough for the knowledge you pass on. KZbin is very confusing when you are trying to learn to mix. Even did a small mixing course, it covered good basics. But nothing about metal.

What gauge did you use for your low F#?

The tones on this EP are second to none. Are you able to release the raw tracks for us to mix? Would be so sick!

Love watching your video! One thing that would be nice to see is how to create the 5150 and Mesa tones that you are blending. Ive been trying to do this for quite sometime and its confusing. What frequencies are you using from each amp? How did you go about dialing them in?

Fantastic video!! May i ask why dont you use any compres on GTR group channel, cause of Kemper did that or ? Thanks

Question: Do you ever compress or limit guitars? Other than multiband compressor of course. Wouldn't it make sense to even the signal a little bit? Or do you prefer it dynamic?

that guitar looks so cool.!!!

Hey, have you tried JST JW Bus Glue? It has a similar effect called, "chug slayer"...I'm wondering if this can give me a similar L1 type of comp?

Awesome tone, but did I just see you do a LP on the guitars and then at the end of the chain do a hi-shelf? Aren't those kind of contradictory moves?
@Mendelian5 жыл бұрын
iseeu1980 high shelfs after a high pass can result into a brighter tone without the fizz of the cab :)

Good luck going to any mixing tutorial video where brands aren't involved. Should they create their own DAWs and plug-ins, and become luthiers to make their own guitars? "I don't know a single thing about mixing music, but I thought I'd go ahead and show how much I don't know just to piss people off about how ignorant I am on the subject, lol I'm such a good troll". That's the gist I'm getting.
