what is "unity of harmony among scattered melody?" Isn't this thoroughly contrapuntal in musical terms? Does "unity of harmony" mean that it's through composed? Tonal in the truest sense of the word? (B major) But, that's true of Mendelssohn's entire output. Anyway, thought I would ask the question.
