I'll just drop this here, for any english speaker. :) See those mighty clouds, with their high tops in the distance proud, shimmering, rising white, like white snow Calmly they glide forward to in the end calmly die slowly dissolving in a hail of cool drops Majestic clouds through life, through death walking while smiling, forward in a shining suns shine without obscuring concern in ether so purely clean go with grandiose tranquil contempt for their destiny If i had the privilege to be proud like these to lift myself up where the worlds bustle cant reach and however much wrath is around me the storms roar sounds carrying the suns shine like a golden wreath around my head

I never really leave comments, but in this case I had too. December 15th, 2017, I lost the most important person in my life in the most shocking of ways. My father. I was in such shock, I was devastated. Theres never been anyone in my life that could compare to him in my eyes. The pain I was feeling, the pain I am still feeling is and was crippling. I went home that night and got into my bed alone. I couldnt have the tv on, bc I couldnt take the senseless noise. So I put my spotify on a list that the app had picked for me. I laid there in bed staring at the ceiling going in and out of consciousness. A few song must have played, but I dont remember them. All of sudden I hear this song. I was half conscious, but something made come too. I picked up my phone and hit the repeat button. I let this song play on repeat for hours and hours while I laid there and cried my heart and eyes out. I dont speak Swedish, I didnt even know that this was Swedish the first time I heard it. I just knew it was the most beautiful song I had ever heard. I looked up the name of the song, and saw it meant "cloud". Still not knowing the lyrics, I have used this song every single day.... I leave it on repeat and sit there and meditate, trying to reach the place I once experienced 7 yrs prior when I had my own near death experience. Trying to reach my Father.... Menke Its worked. Over and over. I and stll now, I visit him in my dreams, and in my meditations all the time using this song. After a few months, I finally looked up the lyrics and translated it into English. When I did I was shook to my core. Literally. I cannot not believe what these lyrics ended up being. The ultimate message from my Father. The most beautiful lyrics ive ever heard. Translated into English this is what I got in gist and its broken bc of the language barrier but still the message to me was so clear... The lyrics: "See the mighty clouds, Whose faraway high summits Proudly, shimmeringly rise White like white snow, Calmly they drift on To ultimately die in peace... Slowly dissolving, In a shower of cool drops, Majestic clouds, Through life, through death, They smilingly walk on In a shining sun's beams, Without any obscuring worries, In ether so clearly pure Walk with grandiosely... Still contempt for their destinies, If I had the privilege To as proudly as these Be able to lift myself up, Where the worlds' burdens can't reach, And how ragingly around me, The storms may go on I carry the sun dazzle's, Golden wreath around my head.... “ It’s been months a year December 15th, that I listened to the song meditated & reached my father daily without knowing the words because I didn’t understand the language. When I looked those lyrics up it literally broke me. Although it comes up broken in English I think the message is clear.... he’s free from worldly worry, he is free from contempt and pain, The sun is shining down on him always, The ether is so clear and pure, how storms still continue down here, but he carries on in the suns warmth with the golden wreath around his head. An Angel. My Angel.... So thank you Menke... Thank you... You have been part of the spiritual connection I have to my father... you have helped delivered the ultimate message from him... one that I so needed. I wanted you to know, that one of the gifts you bestowed upon someone in this life time was this one... one that helped a girl who loves her Dad more then her own life, find her Father... I now have Clouds tattooed on my arm and his handwriting saying "Love Dad" forever to remind me of him ... of this... of the love I shared with the most amazing man to ever walk this planet and how I was the luckiest little girl to ever to have gotten to have him as my Dad..... I just wanted you to know.... and say thank you...

I absolutely fell in love with this song, it's so beautiful! I come from your neigbour country Finland and here we also have to learn Swedish.. I have to admit that I've never taken my Swedish lessons too seriously at school, but this song now turned the tables and made me believe I have much to catch up with my language skills! I'm currently having my exchange year in New Zealand and I find it quite hard, I'm missing many things from back home. But I would not have thought that I would want to have back even those Swedish lessons, so super thanks for inspiring me with my studies! 💙

Menke did not write these lyrics, they are from a poem by Karin Boye See the mighty clouds, whose distant lofty tops proud, shimmering rise, white as white snow! Calmly they glide on, at last in calm to die below, slowly dissolving in a shower of cool drops. Majestic clouds - smiling onward they go straight through life, through death in brilliant sun, in ether so clear and pure, dark care unknown, with quiet and grand contempt for their fate. Would I were granted, festively proud as those, to climb where the bustle of worlds does not tread and bear the sunlight's golden wreath around my head no matter how angrily round me the storms' roar goes (translated by David Mcduff)
