He is my inspiration. In my opinion, he can challenge Nesta Carter and Ryan Bailey. Maybe not Tyson Gay, Blake or Gatlin yet but trust me, he is going to be something big. #GoDasalou!

Recorded through Scart transfer 576i - some colour distortion occurred when rendering - but this for me is the best way to see track events, with the fluidity of movement preserved.

I believe he pulled a hammy or done something to his leg in a 60m final a few weeks back. He ran 6.50 and limped across the finish line, but he will be back within no time he said himself it wasn't that serious and just needed ice on it, when james dasaolu returns for the outdoor open meets for the 100m I dont think Linford christe's NR will stand for much longer.

Agreed. Just watching the side profile of this run is amazing. He looked really good when clocked 6.47 in birmingham a few days ago.

Unfortunately he got injured indoors - but, he came back to win the European championships. That's amazing isn't it. I hope he achieves great things.

After watching the side profile, it seems his knees could go a bit higher and generate more downward force to propel him forward.
@Leonidas-eu9bb
@Leonidas-eu9bb 4 жыл бұрын
just a high knee motion don't produce more force downward force don't get you forward anyway horizontal impulse does
@anthonyclarke2253
@anthonyclarke2253 4 жыл бұрын
@@Leonidas-eu9bb downward force in conjunction with forward momentum is was moves you across the track. Sorry I didn't explain myself properly. It's why coachs always want to see high knees coming up to the waist line so that it forms 90 degree angle.

@@anthonyclarke2253 In my opinion high knees aren't necessary. It's also a bad cue. Fast thigh reversal is a better cue. Veocity is developed early up to 40m as. I think upright sprinting mechanics get too much attention. As soon as an athlete is in the upright posture he can't accelerate any more. Good upright sprinting mechanics are important for efficiency/speed endurance. But the real game changer is how to develop your acceleration for the highest possible max velocity.
@anthonyclarke2253
@anthonyclarke2253 4 жыл бұрын
@@Leonidas-eu9bb I understand your point. In my opinion high knee lift is important but sprintets like Coleman show that raw turnover ( leg speed) can make up for power. Coleman is rare case tho. Upright posture with high knees is best illustrated with Ryan Bailey and Bolt running side by side after they recieved baton in 2012. Both men are 6'5" but it became clear 3 strides where the difference was. Bolts knees came up higher and drove than quicker than Bailey's which resulted in the separation we saw.

If you pause at 0:33, you will see that James Dasaolu crosses the line at 9.4 seconds. Therefore, we can all agree that James Dasaolu is the fastest man of all time. Unlucky Bolt.

The TV timer is just for those watching. After the race it calibrates to the actual timer which is the one at the stadium.
