Thanks for your posting...seemed like NBC/Peacock did not have interest in showing this for their final Sunday telecast. And really, I know there have been heat issues, but holding a championship race around 10/11am in the morning? Best times for athlete's performances have always shown to be late evening (say 7-9 pm). And to also note that there was an awful lot of empty seats for our national championships, but here again a "twilight" competition would be more fan friendly IMHO!

In the US they dont care. They only care about baseball and football for sedentary watchers/fans. In Europe you can watch F1/Track&Field/Ski/Cycling etc all for free on public channels. For example Switzerland and France and Germany and Italy.

I haven't been to a track meet since 2004 NCAA in Austin and this view gives me goosebumps. It would also be so strange to be running while watching yourself on the giant screen.

I love the way he's developed this strategy of turn the screws until everyone breaks. He didn't use it in the 10k, and got outkicked by Klecker. But go watch his indoor 5k 12:53 race and you'll see he does it there too.

@@Bonobopantherienbionique very similar to what Bekele did many many times. The ultimate turning of the screws was when Geb and Bekele went sub-13 for the final 5k of the 10k final in (I think) Paris 2003.

That’s serious pro-level running on a different level with Geb and Bekele. Very few people will be able to split the way those runners did, or continue to do on a world level. A 13:30 5k is like a jog to runners at Bekele and Geb level.

@@monkytrane Really. I personally enjoy track and field over any other sport, and it saddens me to see how little attention Track and Fiedl gets in this country. The stands would have been packed in Europe.

@@williamdenton6317 I love track and field as well, it’s really the only sport I follow. The sad reality is I live in Oregon, but far enough away where I don’t travel to Eugene to watch the show. My wife isn’t a fan so there is no incentive. So I lurk about YT waiting for the next upload.

@minolta7i
@minolta7i 2 жыл бұрын
Because from his "camera position" you would NOT SEE the race as GOOD as when looking up at that nice JUMBO screen. That was a great addition to the NEW Hayward track...somebody was using their brains when they added it to help with the fan experience while watching a track meet!
