I've made a shirt on my own like this and got stumped at the shoulders making the casing. I'm glad you addressed this as my next one will be much better! I do think attaching the elastic at both ends and feeding it through the back will be a nicer front!

Sifting the elastic through the tunnel is easier if you use a closed safety pin to push it along!

I need help!! Lol it's easy & I know I might be over thinking it but it confuses me when you go to make the casing for the elastic. Do you see over the inch that you made on the corners of the sleeve? When I pin everything down the elastic doesn't appear to go through

OK, being new to sewing clothes I am having an issue with the "pleat area". Once you sew the inch down and go to sew the 5/8" all the way around to make the casing for the elastic, how exactly do you pass the elastic where the pleats were done because now that area is "sealed off" due to the 1" stitch I did?? Any help is greatly appreciated as I love your videos! I see a few other people had the same issue in the comments below, but there was never a reply. Please HELP!

Theresa Johnson I was confused at first but if you watch it carefully at 3:05 you can see that she didn't seal if off and you can still get through.

Theresa Johnson / you have to"go behind "the pleat. When you push the elastic thru you may hit the stitching. Just feel around with the pin to find the opening. Good luck.

Get one from a thrift shop before you invest in a more expensive new one--unless you plan to make a lot of your own clothes it's not economical
