Collar under sweater is a very nerdy and old school look which in modern times needs to be put out to pasture. This lady is a very experienced fashion consultant. I would always take her advise seriously.

Really excellent video! That said, one thing really surprised me: the advice to not wear a collar under a crew sweater. This is an extremely classic and preppy look. A white oxford under a cashmere sweater is the definition of classic.

Thanks for the fall and winter guide, up here in Montreal we have four seasons actually five seasons (hockey season haha). I’m so happy when you talked about parkas you didn’t mention the Canada Goose Co. Anyways I have a hard time wearing a sweater especially at work in a hot engineering office. We go from a cold winter outdoors to the office. Layers that that can be easily removed. I’m in my 50s and trying to up my wardrobe and look more together but the office is very casual, you won’t even a sports jacket being worn. You mentioned boots and leather boots, it gets so wet the temperature yo-yos so much that we have to wear some sort of rubber boot. Not fashionable and nobody wants to 20 boots in their closet. It’s funny when I mentioned hockey and going to watch your favourite sports team. In the past people used to dress up to go to a game. What happened? I guess it applies to everything now people dress down and not always for the better to look their best. I guess that’s what you are trying to do and help. All the best

Love everything but I think a collar can work well under a crew neck if the collar is inside the sweater. For example, an oxford button down under a shetland crew neck sweater is such a classic look. I think where the look goes wrong is when the collar is outside the sweater.

Great suggestions. How about a series of deep dive videos? e.g. Beanies: The definitive guide. Rib width: narrow or wide? Rib depth: deep or shallow? When to use thin or thick beanies? How to choose a beanie that will block the wind? Ear flaps or not? Puffy top or follows the head (I think I know your answer to this one!)? Best materials. Styling: Double over height: 1", 2", 3" or 4"? Wear parallel to ground or at an angle? Formality & use cases: Best beanie for Naval/submariner peacoat look; refined going to the opera look, rugged going to chop down a tree look? rakish I'm a rockstar look? I'm backpacking but still want to look good scenario. Pairing with boots and other pieces of clothing. Thank you again 😀👍

For the way to wear the scarf, that really depends on the length of scarf (relative to your size). Some ways require a lot more lengths than others.

I love my thicker oz. wool trousers, but just go Grey all the Way! Charcoal, to slate, to light grey will be more than enough. I just don't like navy when it comes to wool trousers and I'm right about everything all the time. Chinos? Absolutely. Suits? Yes indeed. Also, don't get a Timex unless it's an expedition. 😎

I’m not Ashley haha, but I agree with her. V-necks (and 1/4 zips) just look way better paired with collared shirts under. The crew neck just makes it all too crowded, and the collar line, imo, doesn’t complement the shirt collar lines. It’s not a horrible look by any means; it just doesn’t usually look quite right, and the V neck is just such a better option. Again, imo.

If you're right-handed, wear it on your left wrist. If you're left-handed, figure out which side works best for you. Your watch is less likely to get damaged of you wear it on your off-hand, but most watches are designed to be worn on the left wrist.

Nice video, although I found two items missing (1) and the color recommendations oversimplified (2): 1 if you live in a cold, windy yet rainy area like northern Germany, the Netberlands, Denmark etc. having a water repellent Puffer jacket AND a Trenchcoat with an detachable insulating liner will give you much more wearing oppertunities than a wool coat/ a denim jacket/ a bomber which will get wracked by the rain. Those two are the most important outerwear pieces in that climate. 2. You can't combine a navy wool pant with a navy/ black sweater and a navy/black peacoat/overcoat. All these combinations will heavily clash. Because of this, I found sweaters in medium heather grey (pairs well with charcoal wool pant), medium brown, taupe or offwhite MUCH more versatile than navy, black or charcoal. Most of the jackets and pants are already navy, black or charcoal, that's enough.
