Many thanks to everyone at Vishnu IAS Academy for this very informative video on the state of India’s mental health. The mental health of the masses is the reason why there is corruption, discrimination, crimes and separatist disturbances in various states of India now. Besides adult mental health, India's mental health reforms must address the struggles of countless children from middle-class and underprivileged families. My heartfelt plea to influential politicians and NGOs is to delve deeper into the painful realities of dysfunctional families, domestic abuse, and the devastating impact of child abuse in all its forms, including physical abuse, verbal abuse, emotional/psychological abuse (intimidation, isolation, manipulation), neglect, medical abuse, etc. To educate the Indian masses, there is a pressing need to increase the number of Marriage and Family Therapists in hospitals. Additionally, as explained in the video, ASHA and Anganwadi workers must be trained to identify mental disorders and dysfunctional families.
