I really recommend Steven Universe. It's a lovely LGBTQA children's series that's a lot of fun. The animation is gorgeous, the chracters are all amazing, and the plots are a good mix between fun and lovely and darker things. I can't recommend it enough, even though I haven't watched it in ages. The episodes are all around ten minutes as well, so it's a good one to just sit down and watch.

I find it's very soothing before sleep!! Also the LGBT+ representation is wonderful, really out there and clear to viewers, especially in recent episodes. I can't recommend su enough either. there are too many good things to say about it.

My anxiety is very similar to yours, and watching TV to the point of exhaustion is also sometimes the only thing that helps me. Thanks for talking about it, as I'm not sure it's something a lot of people understand. I also like coloring, but your final results are much prettier than mine - the fact that you're an artist is very clear. I hope you feel better soon! Please make a vlog every day if it's something that helps you - clearly, your vlogs are helpful/comforting to others, as well, but even if they weren't, if they're a good coping mechanism for you, that's awesome.

Shield is a good Marvel series. It's not a cartoon by any means. Colouring is therapeutic and helps sharpen the mind. Both cross-stitching and gardening and doing anything productive with hands can focus the mind.

Pushing Daisies is a great series. It's about this person who can bring dead people back to life, but only for one minute. If he brings them back for longer then there are consequences, but he does just that with his childhood sweetheart. It's sort of about their relationship, but also about solving murder cases by bringing the victim back to life and asking who killed them (which always ends up being more complicated that it sounds). It's done in a slightly fairytale style in which everything is very colourful and larger than life, but it's not childish or anything. There are so many great characters in it and loads of fantastic female characters. It's a really heartwarming series and i highly recommend it.

I love Reign, but if you want historical accuracy it's not what they're going for. They use the story about George, but like in the Other Boleyn Girl they don't go through with it. When my depression takes over I watch Bob's Burgers over and over. It makes me laugh every time. Ugh, Orange Is The New Black. It hurt me in my feels. If you like historical fiction there was a show called Versailles that was very good, and if you haven't seen Borgia or The Borgia's both were good shows. I get anxious at night as well. Something about falling asleep makes me panicky. Watching you at 3:25am is helpimg me right now. Thanks for being awesome!

I love colouring books. I was the same as you, never thought they would be very helpful for my anxiety, but I picked one up one day and it was just so therapeutic. I also find painting or drawing can really help too, as I think it can be a good way to express how you may be feeling that you might not be able to express with words or any other way. Sometimes we can't articulate that feeling we have inside, so art can be a way of helping with that I think. :) Hope you're feeling better.

hi I've never done this before but I struggle with anxiety and depression. it's become a big part of my life as something I have to deal with on a daily basis. it's caused me a lot of trouble to the point were I couldn't go to school, it's been 4 years now since I went to school and I've recently been given medication to help deal with it. so hopefully this school year i'll finally go back. I know you've probably seen a thousand other comments just like this one and you're probably sick of them. but ultimately what i'm trying to say is you've been a big help you're someone to connect to who I know is going through what I am. I use youtube as an escape it's somewhere I go to hide from my problems but I see you and it makes me face them so thank you you've truly helped me get over my anxiety and I feel like I can't put it across fully in just a comment. sorry it was so long bye.

Hi Claudia, I hope you're starting to get better now, I'm so proud of you for staying strong :) I have the Doctor Who adult colouring book, and I go through phases with it to be honest, but I find it's very helpful when I'm feeling low - completing one of the pages gives a sense of being productive, and it's really satisfying when you've finished. I'd recommend either Parks and Recreation or Brooklyn Nine-Nine as TV shows to watch - they're both incredibly funny and uplifting, I found them both when going through a bad phase, and it really cheered me up :) Again, I hope you're feeling better soon

I'm really fucked up right now healthwise as well. I love watching fluff tv and I'm really into "Say yes to the dress" right now. Now, I don't give a shit about weddings and stuff, but there arme women of all colours, sizes and sexualities, putting on expensive dresses, feeling beautiful and the staff is very nice and shuts down mean relatives. It's very rarely problematic and it really calms for some reason. The "real" shows that I like have so many triggers in them. They are good but not relaxing at all (watching Black Sails atm). I hope you'll be better soon xo

I went through a similar thing a while ago where I was just watching tv fanatically to make noise - I would recommend Critical Role...it's a group of voice actors playing D&D but the story is really engaging, and the episodes are between 3 and 4 hours long, and they are up to E58 as of this week (new episodes every Thursday) - plenty of stuff to fill the time!

Criminal Minds is another one of my favorites as well! But anyway, I hope you feel better soon ❤

Since you were talking about Reign, I think you would like OUTLANDER. It's a series about an English WWII nurse in 1945, Claire, who is transported back to 1743 Scotland, when the Jacobite risings started. And of course she also falls in love with a really handsome highlander... Really good show! :) Also, when I'm having really bad days, comedy helps me out so much, so I would recommend BOY MEETS WORLD. It's an American 90s sitcom about a boy named Cory Matthews. It's really funny, and I like how every episode has a moral to it. :) It's great to watch when you can't fall asleep because it's so amusing and because the episodes only last 20 minutes. Anyway, it really helps to keep me distracted when I'm having bad thoughts or when I'm panicking, so maybe it can help you too. :) I love your channel btw, I admire your honesty, and your strength! (PS: I saw someone recommending VERSAILLES - that's really good as well. PPS: sorry for the lack of paragraphs, KZbin won't let me.)

Ooooh, please watch Orphan Black if you haven't seen it yet! It's quite fast paced and very interesting/exciting. With really awesome female characters. I don't know if you like DC at all, but Batman: The Animated Series a masterpiece, in my opinion. I think you would enjoy it; it is very well done artistically. Avatar: The Last Airbender, and the sequel The Legend of Korra are both amazing as well (these are all kids cartoons) Korra is more for teens I think. Those two both have amazing female characters and really positive messages. It's what I watch to calm down.

Outlander is a historical drama but with time travel! Mr. Robot is SO GOOD, it involves mental health and addiction; its main premise is making the world a better place through hacking. It also stars the beautiful Rami Malek. The Walking Dead is actually really good, even if you're not into zombies and gore. The main focus is humanity and how society changes. Once Upon a Time is entertaining and has cool spins on fairy tails. Avatar: The Last Airbender is AMAZING and beautiful and takes place in such a unique world with great complex characters/plots. You'd love it! Gravity Falls is a great cartoon, very clever and funny and involves a big mystery. And I know people have suggested Steven Universe, but I have to as well. It's SO FRIGGIN GOOD. It's insanely gorgeous animation and I'm sure you'll love it! Take care! xx

I love Reign so I'd recommend it, even though it is supremely historically inaccurate. I've also been watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. It's set in the 1920s/30s and the protagonist is a progressive sort of liberated flapper woman who works as a private detective. It can be really funny and camp but it also tackles some interesting issues like LGBT rights and mental illness.

I would ecommend Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, its a nice detective tv show set in the 20s. It's very easy to watch nothing horribly dark or anything. Them there is this a new show called Preacher, just couple of episodes are out so far but I love it. Orphan Black is quite good, though im sure you've heard about that one, its quite popular esp on tumblr. Oh and then I'm sure you've heard about Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but I remember watching that when I was really low and tried to distract myself from my anxiety by watching tv. Big plus of this show is that its quite long and even over it's imperfections I love it. Thats kinda all I can think of right now. Also! Wyonna Earp is p good.

Steven Universe, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Parks and Recreation. these shows never fail to help me feel better and they are all lovely. if you want to watch a lesbian vampire falling for a tiny gay you should watch carmilla, it's a really fun web series. and also a movie rec: the way he looks. it's my all time favorite brazilian movie and i'm pretty sure it's on netflix so check it out maybe? here's the plot: "Leonardo is a blind teenager searching for independence. His everyday life, the relationship with his best friend, Giovana, and the way he sees the world change completely with the arrival of Gabriel". it was based on a short film, I Don't Want to Go Back Alone, so maybe watch this first to see if it's something you would enjoy. but trust me it's really good okay. xxx

Hello Claudia! i hope you are feeling a little better today, and if it makes you feel any better i want you to know that some random girl in California (me) thinks and worries and sends good vibes to you and that you matter to her. Funny you brought up Reign as i was just catching up on the most recent season yesterday and idk why but i noticed how much you and the lead actress (adelaide kane) look alike, thought that was neat. as for the show i personally love it despite the way it plays very fast and loose with actual history its basically like The Tudors in that the important things need to happen but everything else is mostly fictional . and Mary is a BADASS! about the Anne/George thing while i’m still disappointed/upset that they did it at all! it was actually used as a way to show Elizabeth how desperate her mother was to produce a male heir because she knew what was going to happen if she didn’t. In the end shes told Anne never actually went through with it. which makes her love and respect for her mother grow so much bigger, still though left a bad taste in my mouth. but yes i think you should try it out its full of good strong female characters i also have to give a book rec that relates back to the show its called "The Rival Queens" by Nancy Goldstone its about Catherine de' Medici and her daughter Marguerite there lives/deaths but mostly the horrible relationship they had with each other, and also the ways women struggled to get and maintain power in that era especially when it comes to Catherine de' Medici . As i was reading it i kept seeing them as Cersei and Sansa the dynamic between them is very similar. very good historical bio!

Just don't make the same mistake I did and get overly attached to Dr Mac. She's not in the show very much after the first episode. And I highly recommend Steven Universe as well!! It's cute and fun, with an excellent over-arching story, complex themes about love and loss, and tons of diversity. And yeah, it's gay. Please watch Steven Universe. Have you watched Gravity Falls? If not, I absolutely recommend it. Also I don't know which Avengers cartoon your brother recced but there's two that I know of: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Avengers Assemble. I recommend both; AA is sort of a sequel to EMH, but EMH is more based on comics and AA is more based on the movies. From what I've seen I think EMH has more women which for me is a huge pro. I think Janet (the Wasp) is a regular member of the team along with Natasha, and Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird and Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel both appear for at least an episode each.

My psychiatrist suggested I stay away from the dark stuff when I was in a dark place. Comedy is wonderful at these times, I like Louis CK, but whatever makes you laugh is great. Oh and I love classic movies! Fred Astaire, Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant....do you watch Miss Jessica Kellgren-Hayes (on YT)? You should, you would absolutely adore her. I was thinking some more about your questions about why people suck. Here is one quote that resonated with me..."“Of the good in you I can speak, but not of the evil. For what is evil but good tortured by its own hunger and thirst? Verily when good is hungry it seeks food even in dark caves, and when it thirsts it drinks even of dead waters.” Kahlil Gibran. Peace and be well.

I didn't like Reign much. Twin Peaks is on netflix you might like it. It's good in the beginning, has a great last episode and the latter end of the second season kind of reminds me of northern exposure with some darker themes. Though the show could be triggering in parts. I assume you already know Jessica Jones since your a Marvel fan. There's also the thing about classic who is there's always more to watch. I like Hell on Wheels, it's about dirty business of building a railway in the late 1800s. Is it as hard for you to socialize online as it is in person? Tabletop role playing has been pretty active online. Though that's not going to work if your social anxiety extends to online interactions as well.

Reign is a CW show, this means that the actors have to be as young as possible, beautiful and wantonly sexual. Don't expect to see anything historical if you watch it. For example the historical Claude of France was hunchback, had a club foot, was married at age 11 and had 9 children. You do not see any of this in the show.

I feel like it's fair to assume that you watch the current Flash series. If not for some strange reason, do. It's wonderful. Have you seen the youtube series "PoPS"? Platoon of Power Squadron. It's great and wonderful and Jake Jarvey's updates about the series are also lots of fun. It's about normal people with powers/abilities. One of the great things about it, besides the story line itself, is watching acting and production value improve over time. (There are 9 episodes released and they each took at least a year to put out!) Also "Her Story"!! It's another KZbin series which stars transwomen and whose creators are queer and trans women. And it's a lesbian love story. So, like... it's basically just the best show. (Only Season 1 is out... and there's only 6 episodes in it... and the episodes are short... so you can watch all of it in like an hour. But it's really great and worth the watch and even a second watch.) Like some folks below recommended: "Mr. Robot" is great. The main character is a really smart hacker guy with some pretty severe mental illness struggles. It's really just an incredible show. And it can mess with your head a little, normally is really great way. Definitely suggest. I'm planning to rematch it really soon. I recently watched thru "Fringe". It's a weird series and the last two seasons (there are 5) are pretty bizarre and take a plot turn that I didn't care for... but Joshua Jackson is in it and he's wonderful and the protagonist is a pretty strong female lead. And it's SciFi, so it's fun. "Six Feet Under" is one of my all time favorite series, so if you haven't seen it I definitely recommend. It came out a while ago, but you could've missed it cause it's and American-made adult/"mature audience" show and finished when we were like 12 or 13... Do you watch "Walking Dead"? I know there are mixed opinions about it, but I seriously adore that show. Fear TWD is... okay. Did you watch the Netflix series Sense8? Another one with mixed reviews that I liked. "Gilmore Girls" is another show I really love, despite it being older and pretty normative. A lot of other folx recommended "Avatar: the Last Airbender" and I must echo this sentiment. If you haven't seen this animated series, please please watch it. It's lovely and sweet and makes great political commentary for a kids show of it's time. (It came out we we were... I wanna say about 11.) I've watched it through multiple times. The sequel series "Korra" isn't as good and makes some questionable political commentary, but I enjoyed it a lot, too. These are some of the American shows I like a lot. I didn't include the British-made ones I love because they're all decently well-known and that makes me assume that you've seen them. (You and I sound like we watch similar amounts of TV and I feel like anyone who watches that many series has seen most of the more popular and artistically wonderful shows.)

I really wanted to like Reign because I'm a massive Mary fan myself but it's so inaccurate and it dumbs down Mary's fascinating and horrifying story. I will recommend grey's anatomy because it's ridiculously long and it's more fabulous Shonda Rhimes. Also the x files if you haven't already seen it it's fantastic. And Orphan Black which is fabulous and the most recent season just ended. They're great binge series if you can't sleep :)

I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time! Series I like to watch when I'm down are grace and frankie, which makes me laugh a lot, orphan black (might be triggering tho) and the blacklist (maybe google this one before watching as well). Also did you watch the webseries herstory? It's very short but amazing! New Girl and Modern Family are comedy shows, both kinda very problematic but idk it's very hard to find comedy that's not racist or sexist. And they are some of the more "progressive" ones i guess. Dowton Abbey i imagine you might've seen already.. Oh and Between (on Netflix) and the Tribe (a 90s/2000s show with amazing costumes omg) are both kinda dystopian series, pretty dark but really suspenseful.

Hey Claudia I just love your videos and I just realized I have depression everyday I wanna stay in bed as long as I can. TV Shows cheer me up the most don't know if you ever saw the HBO series "Six Feet Under" I think it's genius and that you would very much enjoy it for the way it explores gay relationships. Stay strong

I found Reign to be really soap operaish, if you want something to zero your brain when very tired it was good for that, but I would not say it had good quality. I'd recommend Steven Universe too, I found that really therapeutic on bad mental health days. Have you seen Wolf Hall? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it as the history expert. I've been watching Penny Dreadful, second and third season are much better than the first, in my opinion. More in response to your previous mental health vlog: Are you sure you've got the right diagnoses? Maybe the reason you haven't gotten better, like you've been expected to, is a reason to give that another look, or maybe seek a second opinion. Because they might be changing my diagnoses from unipolar to bipolar type 2 and the new label has already been helping me so much, and I think I recall you mentioning in one of your earlier videos that you can get quite hyper too at times. I used to feel so guilty about not getting better, when I thought I was trying so hard to, and then being told because I wasn't getting better I was just not trying hard enough. It's just often really hard for people with bipolar 2, and maybe not so clear and strong hypomanic symptoms to get the right diagnoses, but when you do it can make a big difference. And, if that is the case it could help you answer some of those questions about the future and how to better manage it.

I recommend getting into self help it has helped me deal with my issues :-) it could help you too, for stress at night it could help if you acknowledge how you feel, accept it and try to not think about it by distracting yourself (still dont just avoid how you feel 100%), you should watch elliott hulse instead of tv if you cant sleep because the videos would be very helpful (its on youtube) or avatar the last airbender if you arent bothered haha.

If you're willing to cross over to DC, Gotham is definitely worth a watch, it's kind of a mystery and has a gang war, and it's all before Bruce Wayne became Batman so it's kind of Batman, and kind of not.

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes sounds like the cartoon your brother recommended, and I would definitely recommend that one too. It's very good. And if you like Spider-Man too, check out the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon, it's also great. One show I've really liked recently that you might like is iZombie. It's only got two seasons so far, but it's a great, funny, dramatic show. If you've seen Veronica Mars, it's made by the same producer.

Reign slaps historical accuracy in the face every episode, but if you can get past that-and the incessant love triangles-there are some really great female characters :) Tv Show Recommendations: 12 Monkeys, Wynona Earp, Killjoys, Suits(Gina Torres is awesome in it and it has great female characters like Donna(kzbin.info/www/bejne/fobYlaStr7Gnlac), Unreal(I'm not sure if you'll like it, but I desperately want to hear your thoughts on it), Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales For Every Child( It's an animated children's show from the late 90's, but it always made me feel better and maybe it will do the same for you), The Fosters, Izombie, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries(web series on KZbin) I know you didn't ask for book recommendations, but Ella Enchanted has always been a favorite of mine, so I wanted to share it with you.

If you're a fan of historical accuracy then really really don't watch Reign haha. Personally I find it entertainingly ridiculous but I wouldn't call it a good show and I certainly wouldn't call it a historical programme (it's very very loosely based on real events). I always watch Steven Universe and Brooklyn Nine-Nine when my mental health is bad because they're so positive and fun and episodes are pretty short so they don't take up too much time or energy. They're also funny without being offensive which is always a plus. Some other shows I'd recommend are Avatar: The Last Airbender and Shadowhunters which also are both very positive and fun.
