Welcome to the new age of ideologies, in which everyone seems to know exactly what the truth is - or alternatively claims that truth is nothing but a chimera and thus only might makes right. Welcome to 2018. Welcome to DYSTOPIA NOW.

Many people asked for the lyrics, so here we go:
“Power is in inflicting pain and humiliation. Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing. Do you begin to see, then, what kind of world we are creating? It is the exact opposite of the stupid hedonistic Utopias that the old reformers imagined. A world of fear and treachery and torment, a world of trampling and being trampled upon, a world which will grow not less but more merciless as it refines itself. Progress in our world will be progress towards more pain. The old civilizations claimed that they were founded on love or justice. Ours is founded upon hatred. In our world there will be no emotions except fear, rage, triumph, and self-abasement. Everything else we shall destroy, everything. Already we are breaking down the habits of thought which have survived from before the Revolution. We have cut the links between child and parent, and between man and man, and between man and woman. No one dares trust a wife or a child or a friend any longer. But in the future there will be no wives and no friends. Children will be taken from their mothers at birth, as one takes eggs from a hen. The sex instinct will be eradicated. Procreation will be an annual formality like the renewal of a ration card. We shall abolish the orgasm. Our neurologists are at work upon it now. There will be no loyalty, except loyalty towards the Party. There will be no love, except the love of Big Brother. There will be no laughter, except the laugh of triumph over a defeated enemy. There will be no art, no literature, no science. When we are omnipotent we shall have no more need of science. There will be no distinction between beauty and ugliness. There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always -- do not forget this, Winston -- always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- forever.”

That quote from 1984 makes it pop. The track itself is amazing regardless, but adding the timeless words of Orwell there gives it a real edge, and the blade runner synth simply soars. 10/10

I just came back here because of this line in the monologue: "The sex instinct will be eradicated. Procreation will be an annual formality like the renewal of a ration card." @@wildfire3986 there's some stuff Orwell didn't predict. He wrote about a society that secretly despises big brother, not predicting the eventual society that for the most part loves their big brother and pretends the oppression isn't happening while looking the other way at mass incarceration, the erosion of rights and etc. He didn't predict a cancel culture that would be heavily pro-censorship, pro-socialism, anti-Bill of Rights. He didn't predict a society that would be far more worried, paranoid even, that society and the government isn't watching them than the concern over the surveillance state.

I just love how so many people find it appropriate to comment that our world is slowly becoming what's depicted in books like 1984, or even better, that it already became such a thing. Although if such people were to be put in such a setting, they would beg you on their knees to return them back to our world after less than a week and after that would never think of leaving such a gift as living in current time and place that they are in right now underappreciated.

The author in 1984 has already seen 2022 till 2050 I guess as most of the verses are exactly the current timeline i believe. A boot stamping on human face forever , I'm already feeling sick

Aww man, this track would be PERFECT for the introduction to either the next Deus Ex installment or the next Judge Dredd movie. 2:05 as soon as the 1984 monologue ends and the beat drops, cut strait to the literal Boot of a futuristic riot officer stomping on a protesters neck while panning out revealing a futuristic dark alley environment full of riot officers and police cars arresting and harassing a bunch of protesters and homeless people.
