I just started playing a few months ago and was the sprout in the Ramuh Extreme and I had a ton of fun we managed to do it before the timer ran out. Had a few people that refused to learn or communicate but we just kicked them and it went pretty well. I raided in wow so it only took me a few pulls to understand the fight and carry my weight and it was really refreshing to do content that was actually a bit challenging because up until that point everything had been mindless tank and spank.

is ramuh actually that hard on extreme? i kept on trying to queue into a group for wondrous trails but never found one, so i ended up just barely being able to solo it on my dark knight. mechs didnt seem that impossible but im guessing cause i was solo alot of them didnt apply, if its a tough fight ll def do it in a group because i do want to experince what challenging content in this game is like

@@Crimscn It's not that the fight is hard (although it probably requires the most coordination of the ARR Extremes), but if you use Duty Finder, you get people that just don't want to try. They want to wipe a few times so they can leave without penalty.

@@Crimscn I wouldnt even call it hard really. Just a few crucial mechanics that people need to understand and perform and with randoms it often turns into uncontrolled chaos. An even remotely competent premade group could probably do it with their eyes closed after a few tries. I just think up until that point people are used to being able to ignore any mechanics aside from aoe circles and complete the content just fine. Its a large jump from the "hard" trials which is probably jarring for the casual player. For me at least it was the first extreme i did because i just randomly got a quest to do it and figured why not.

Mentor roulette is an awesome roulette because you can randomly get EX trials. I just wish you could queue in with a friend or two to more easily help others and to make the whole experience more enjoyable for the mentors as well.

ah yes, the compilation of pain and struggle and you absolutely slam dunking Hesperos. delicious lol But honestly, seeing you doing extremes alongside the sprouts makes me feel a bit more confident about trying to queue for that too. And your streams are nice and chill too! Great video!

Some of the most fun I've ever had in the game was just me zoning in with 7 sprouts and seeing Thok-Ast-Thok Extreme and no other crowns in the party. It took some effort, though I think a lot of the later ones are hard enough to not be worth progging with random blind sprouts in 1 lockout. I've had Thordan EX come up twice, and that is not happening unless you have mostly mentors. I give them enough pulls for the sprouts to get the picture and decide they'd rather use Party Finder on their own. We are not getting through that fight if my co-tank can't even dodge the dashes in the first add phase and instantly eats dirt.

The two Ramuhs in a row is ROUGH haha, also I love the job roulette, definitely keeps thingsi interesting. I'm just starting my mentor roulette grind and it's actually really rewarding to help out the sprouts, specially with all the new xbox players doing content. My worst one was a Shiva EX that we could just NOT clear, but oh well, it's part of it. Here's a video idea! What about doing a tier list of job limit breaks?

I give some people give mentors shit for saying "Hey you guys should really use party finder for this" but as long as they aren't dicks about it I don't see the problem. At that point they're doing their job and telling new players about a tool they might not be familiar with yet.

Definitely good to let them know party finder exists. My only problem is that I just dont see those PFs filling for this old content, so not sure how great the advice is in reality

Pretty new to mentor roulette myself, unlocked it recently for infinite content machine. I’m always pretty annoyed when I get an extreme but honestly it always turns out to be pretty fun. When I’m just doing roulettes day to day I’m not really learning anything, but diving into an old ex really scratches my itch for learning in this game.

A lot of the time a random EX can be fun, but when you get the people that sabotage the whole group for various reasons, it just ruins my whole day.

Controller is extremely easy to use once you get the feel for it down. Once you learn the double tap and hold mechanics for controller you have 48 buttons you can use and you technically don’t switch between hotbars. Hardest part is getting used to hit the D pad buttons and move at the same time. But that’s why I only use things like tank stance or arm’s length/sure cast over there when I technically don’t have to move around so much.

So am I the asshole if I politely remind people to use party finder for Extremes when I get thrown into them in Mentor roulettes? It's not that I mind teaching, but it's still mutually beneficial as far as I'm concerned: it's a lot faster to farm/easier to prog with a party that signed up to be there plus you don't get people that just want to wait the timer out and leave and refuse to even try to do the fight in the meantime, and I don't have to be forced into content that I have to be in the mood for to enjoy.

The thing is if you queue in a mentor roulette, you should expect to do some extreme trials, so if you don't want that, don't queue. Now, are you an asshole for typing that? I don't think so

Kinda, because literally every other mentor that gets put into an ex trial does this. The sprouts know. They don't care. That's why people don't take kindly to it. If they wanna use DF they're gonna use it! I've had real problems with mentors being actively angry and aggressive over even the DISCUSSION of using DF for extremes in NN. I've even been kicked out of NN by mentors for telling sprouts to use DF for ex if they want to.
