The power of discernment is real and takes time to develop... I appreciate the fact that this is the first episode I've watched since then and this was my own choice... I go back to Little Shawn when he was with Special Ed in 89 or 90. I've enjoyed them releasing the small nugget/vids and have commented there. But hearing it in full is good He connected a lot of dots and IMO comes off as genuine. Never would I have thought back then he was that into the game. Back then a lot of guys adjacent to either a bigger name or crews were dropping. He's right about you had to be a damn near idiot to not get money then. Chubb Rock - ATEEM (his dancers "Hot Dog" and others) Special Ed - Little Shawn Kane - Scoop & Scrap (yes they did release a record on Cold Chillin) Those were/are the ones that come to mind. But I'm mentioning that to thats my exposure to Shawn initially. When "Dom Perignom" dropped, I loved that sample and was like "oh he's on Uptown now". Then he vanished. (These are the dots that are connected amongst others) Looking forward to his movie.

a) Lil Shawn, (accidently, I think), sneaked dissed the memory of Combat Jack when he said he had only ever done one podcast before. His Combat Jack interview was the greatest ever. RIP Combat Jack. RIP Dallas Penn. b) That 'I made love (4 the very first time)' single Shawn dropped in 1992 was one of those "sound track of the summer' joints. I'd come in from class, and that joint was ALWAYS in rotation on BET Rap City. PLUS it was a banger. And he was right: his image seemed soft at the time, but watching the video and the dudes in the background, you could tell dude had PULL. c) Building of off b) above, back then it never made sense to me that Tupac was going to a session with Lil Shawn, (remember his public image). After Combat and these respective interviews, NOW, of course, I know Shawn was that dude in these streets.
@perrynnlynch18832 ай бұрын
