MEOVV, Korean pronounciation is "miyao", is a 5th gen girl group from TheBlackLabel that debuted on 2024-09-06. TheBlackLabel started as a subsidiary of YG Entertainment, but, since 2022, they are now an affiliate of YG Entertainment that has plans to be independent of YG within the next two years. TheBlackLabel is primarily known because of it's majority owner and Executive Producer, Teddy, who made the majority of the music for 2NE1 and Blackpink. MEOVV is the first group created by TheBlackLabel. Previously, they only had solo artists such as Jeon Somi, Taeyang, and Rosé. MEOVV curently has three songs. "Meow", "Toxic", and "Body". They have a cat theme which is represented in their choreography for "Meow" & "Body" and they have said they are similar to cats in energy & attitude. Ella - She is Korean-American born in California (2008) and had been with TheBlackLabel the longest since she was initially signed as a model & actress when she was 9 years old. Before debuting she was known for her work as a fashion model, actress (acted in 6 Americantv shows), and being Blackpink's little sister. She is the (maknae) youngest of the group. She represents an orange Tabby cat. Narin - She is Korean (2007). She has lyricist song credits for "Toxic". Netizens have labeled her as the ace of the group. She represents a white Persian cat. Gawon - She is Korean-American born in New Jersey (2005). She was a fashion model under an American agency before becoming a trainee at YG Entertainment and after being eliminated from the Babymonster project, she left YG and signed with TheBlackLabel in 2022. She also has lyricist song credits for "Toxic". Netizens have labeled her as the other ace of the group. She represents a Cheetah cat. Sooin (with bangs) - She is Korean (2005). She is the oldest member of the group and is considered their main dancer. She represents a Siamese cat. Anna - She is Japanese (2005). She was a model and actress under a Japanese agency before signing with TheBlackLabel. She started learning Korean about 1-2 years ago, so she tends to be shy during interviews. Netizens have labeled her as the visual of the group. She represents a English Shorthair kitten. MEOVV has a NPOP stage performance of "Toxic" and a Studio Choom performance of "Body".
