Yeah. But, honestly, rituals are very GM depend and narrative dependent. The strict rules are there, but they're designed to be influenced by narrative demands quite easily. Asta having a ritual is not a huge deal. Specially since the thing costs money and it's hard to succeed at their level. It's also totally something she could "buy" with her character creation wealth. Weapons and Armor with fundamental runes, however, are straight up power increases and must be controlled.

This is for Skid: Mindshift Abilities from the Psychic allows them to have more control over using Fire/Cold damage in their spells. For Buggles, right now, he can use Psi Burst BEFORE using the damage cantrip to control which kind of damage he will deal. Granted, this is only available after Unleash Psyche, but that's pretty much when it will matter anyway.

Oh, man, Skid had such great tactical play there with Bon Moi plus intimidate, and the die was just not nice to him.

This a moderate encounter by the way. The party is rolling really low and this creature has good AC and Reflex. Not to mention that Troy must've been rolling 15+ on the whole combat. That definitely skewers the perception. However, I didn't see many attacks with Flanking or someone trying to Grapple the cat. Both situations with high chance of success that could turn the tide of battle. Then, with Aid (Circumstance)+Guidance (Status) and Off-Guard (-2AC), there would be a +4 net benefit to every die roll against the creature's AC. That would make things way easier.

@@Jackson79136 Too true. Even if you only have one per session, it still can take the edge off from extreme scenarios. Even when you roll poorly after the Hero Point, you can avoid Critical Failures, even if you don't succeed. I think the double hammer of Fumbles AND limited Hero Points is skewing the experience for the table. Not only that, but they're still at the levels where battles are more swingy. Things will only get less rough after level 7, with HP getting sizeable and damage remaining mostly similar to level 4.

For better or worse, spells in PF2e ALWAYS remain active unless stated otherwise. And more often than not, effort (1 action) must spent to cancel a spell.

Buggles can add or remove energy through Psi Burst. On the turn where Skid was frustrated because he had to add energy, then frustrated because he'd used two actions and couldn't cast, he could have free action unleashed, used Psi Burst with the last action, adding energy, then been able to throw a true spell with cold the next turn.

Rituals are a bit complicated but they can bring some fun stuff at the table. I rewatched the video made by 'How it's played' on Rituals to remember all the rules. I think you guys did ok, it's just the primary DC that wasn't right.

The DC for the ritual was 24 ("very hard" DC for the level of twice the ritual's rank, which is 19 + 5). This is kinda why the ritual stuff is really loosey-goosey with how you get them; it's meant to be up to the GM if/when the PCs can get them, because the rules for doing a ritual is very complicated that it's not something you can just DO on short notice. Also, each of the secondary skills must be attempted; it's not a list of what COULD be rolled. I don't blame the group for getting the stuff wrong; they weren't fully prepared for performing a ritual, and the rules for it are something you need to research a bit more than a casual glance-through.

There are straight up companies that will grab a cat that's been called in, spay / neuter it, then re release it. I worked for a company that had two shop kittens and a momma. Boss left out food for the kittens, Momma would come and go. The lady Kitten, I'd named Sweetheart, would hang out with me while I was working. I was able to pet and pick her up after about a .month of working there, and pissed off my buddy because he'd been working for nearly a year to get her trust, and I beat them to it.
