Somewhat surprised by the turnaround. MEP looked tired but said he isn't. Chris is not looking tired and the box says he won't be. But he did miss many volleys and overheads, while shanking the few 2HBs he tried. So overall still enough weakness to take advantage of for Ben. It will probably be a tight 3rd set. Well done Chris for coming back so strong.

Chris has exactly the right mentality. Massive props for never getting down on himself despite getting slammed in set 1. Also congratulating his opponent on his good shots and not letting ego get the better of him because of Ben's unorthodox style. Ben is a mental beast and very fit. Would be extremely tough to beat.

Great job by Chris in recognizing a problem (too close and jamming himself) and making a proper adjustment. I was worried for a minute there when he was talking about changing his grip, but it worked for him. Now let’s see if he can carry the momentum for the third set.

Even MEP gets shaky sometimes (actually this is the only time so far). What I've learned from watching MEP's matches is grinding is truly the key to greatness.

I wonder if chris used closed/neutral stance as opposed to open stance if he would of won in 2?

MEP still has a chance. Chris is better than the 2 opponents before, but still his forehand is a bit inconsistent and technically not without errors (you can see that from the amount of shanks). The serve left him in the 2nd half of the first set, but in the 2nd set it was ok. Tactically Chris still hits a lot of balls to the middle of the court so that MEP does not need to move a lot.
