DARN, i wanted also to point up that i also see you very often commenting on great bm stuff, and i want to add that 1) judging by your profile pic of the grand -insane display of higher music skills SCHAMMACH , you KNOW where to find the best music in BM territory, so kudos brother and 2) i am now listening the whole thing and not some taste test 2-3 tracks and maaan , the whole experiencing way of this UNMATCHED infernal work is a whole other level of music , and they dont hesitate to inject avant garde delicacy into the unrelenting occult BM basic formula ..and they conquer again my mind and soul -Sweden bands again prove their unique scene and these wizards push even further the barriers without being ''posers'' but with clever melodies ,they marry and they release the grand outcome ! also the cover is absolutely stunning and the use of the red colour convinced me to give them a chance of what i will be listening in my restless nights

Can we just appreciate how epic this album is. Those transitions are so good. Sometimes I forget it's 8 songs not 1. Vocals are out of this world. I feel like I need a second listen just to appreciate it more. My journey with this album definitely isn't over.

EXPERIENCE , the proper word for this masterpiece album , glad of seeing other fellas using this mind and soul being combined with clever dark music -whoever having open mind approaching and some patience , by the end of the album , they will feel ''revived & many many things to reconsider on how this work delivered superior BM display and not hipsterish without purpose avant garde complex infused melodies...i could write many things more for this beloved album BUT i think many of us already have done it and i will get a bit tiresome comment! so LO & BEHOLD SHEM HA MEPHORASH \M/

@Jonathan Tousley I've thought a lot about this. I think people are drawn to the very raw, visceral, violent sound of black metal as a set of sonic ideals and look towards classics like DMDS, Burzum, or Venom as exemplifications of that sound. I also think the people that whine about modern production polishing are the very same people that just loop DMDS all day because ''black metal can't get any better''. It's laze on their part to not delve deeper into the composition itself. Plenty of bands nowadays are leaving that heavily-lo-fi sound behind in favor of communicating that emotion via other tools; lyrics, vocal tweaks, shifts in timbre, guitar tone, lyric delivery; every single other facet of a song is a tool that can be used for the same means. The medium is just shifting.

@@trashbin7205 Best explanation on the subject sofar, enjoyed reading it :) To me most blackmetal is perfect when the grade (?) of production has become as first intended by the artist, don't know if I've used the right words to describe. Like it or hate it, but Marduk's Rom 5:12 is still one of my favourites in 'the genre' (yes unfortunately that's another thing debatable), I think it's perfect in every regard, polished but by far not too clean, technical, even groovy, yet brutal

@@trashbin7205 I've never been a fan of high fidelity metal. Sometimes it works for me (atriarch, toxic holocaust, thrones) but for the most part I prefer the guttural low fidelity sound some of favorite bands are known for (90s neurosis, karp, thergothon, burning witch, white medal).
