I agree, and that’s why I’m suggesting that maybe Surjit Bindrakhia was also following a similar style, like taking inspiration from chamkila .. I’m no expert, just guessing based on what I’ve heard before. Whenever I listen to Surjit Bindrakhia, his music sounds very grounded and rustic, very close to the land.
