I had another one of their rowers when I first started to get into rowing. The "smart" feature of that rower ended up breaking the magnetic resistance of the rower so I could no longer adjust the resistance of the rower making it unusable. Still managed to get a full refund for it after 6 months, so I wasn't too mad about it. I row now with a water rower (concept's a bit to loud for my apartment space), and rowing still has been easily one of the best decisions that I've made in my life. From that rower alone along with the ergatta I managed to lose 70lbs in 6 months, while it took me almost a whole year from when I started to get down to 30. Your videos were what I watched when I got started, so I do thank you for that.

Love those kitties! Thank you for saving me. We used to have a Concept 2 (from late dad-in-law), but didn't realize what we had and gave it away. But missed my sometime rowing sessions, so bought a Bowflex thinking I could row on that...ha, ha, ha! Since we're heading to 70 in a couple years, those recent stories of 90-somethings rowing champs are very inspiring. So I looked at this machine on Amazon and then decided to search on the name and found your review. Between your review and seeing nothing but Concept 2 in those rowing machine competitions, I will be placing an order for a new Concept 2 on the 1st of Oct. Thank you! (if you have an affiliate code with Concept 2, I'd be happy to give you credit.)

Man, you were so spot-on about English being a stupid language. I speak several other languages and they all have precise rules of writing and pronunciation, meaning that certain letter combinations are always pronounced the same and certain sounds are always written the same. Whereas there is no head no tail to English, where the same combination of letters can be pronounced differently (take job and Job, for example), or the same word can be written in different ways (principle and principal? there, their and they're?). I often wonder, an apparently smart and inventive people like the English, and this is the best they were able to come up with in terms of language???

Cheers, great review. I'm considering this for use in an apartment as the communal Concept 2 has a broken monitor that they are taking ages to replace/repair. So my options are something like this (quieter than a used Concept 2) or a smartwatch with a stroke rate function eg Garmin.
Magnitic resistance should (in theory) be able to precisely compute the calories by its electronics, not sure how they actually do.

The force required to overcome the resistance has an energy demand on the body and that energy in Jules can be converted into calories I think 🤔

Do you have the Q1SPro, the self-powered one, did it come with a power adapter?

What do you think about new mirafit rowing machine? It was built based on concept 2

Not being able to pull a full stroke seems disqualifying? The rower is always on sale!

I was looking at this partiuclar model and waiting for a sale on amazon. Being new to rowing and didn't know about full stroke and that it would not be possible on this machine. I wonder if it's possible to put some sort of an extender to put feets further from the machine and achieve that full stroke. thanks for the video!

I wonder if theres some way to macguyver the foot plates to that bar with like zip ties or something so they dont move. I guess this kind of machine is ok for someone who's interested in getting some exercise and not in being a skilled rower. A lot of the other budget rowers youve looked at before cant do even that. More cats in your videos, pleeez

Any chance of doing the Merach r06(399 with coupon) water rower? I did want one of these to just "burn calories", but if I can get it in a full stroke that would be nice. I need it to be quiet where I live. I'm curious to see how you would review it, as you did a great job with this one. They have a slanted one too, at 299(with coupon). Let me know if you can, and I'll hold off on buying.

Once I realized I couldn’t get a full row it was a hard pass for me. Why would I buy a rower if I can’t even get a full row? 😂 Ty sir
