Does it matter if you use port 1 for the inbound backplane connection and port 2 for the outgoing backplane connection? I have 5 switches in a stack and have them stacked that way but am wondering if I should cable the backplane as you have described in this video. Thank you.

LOL, and how do you remove a stack cable. Snapped in great... removing...it can't be as hard as I'm making it. I keep looking for something to squeeze... :(

What happens if you already have one switch up and running, configured for different endpoints/servers etc and want to add another one? Will the already made config be removed?

can we use only one stack cable on dedicated stack port? or its mandatory that require 2.

Hi stive the video about meraki it's splendid but I have one query like I have 300 switch which bound with template but I want to make some changes in particular switch so how I can do and that changes will impact entire template bound switches or????

Do the switches need to be powered off before connecting the stacking cables?

Yes, according to the stacking guide, they need to be powered off, after the initial boot from both. power them off and then proceed to connect the stacking cables. After that turn them both on.

You say unconfigured then you say "we've already set up are switches. Do you have a set up as I'm not familiar with these models?

For N switches (N can be up to 8): Switch 1: Port 1 goes to Port 2 on Switch 2 Switch 2: Port 1 goes to Port 2 on Switch 3 ... Switch N-1: Port 1 goes to Port 2 on Switch N Switch N: Port 1 goes to Port 2 on Switch 1
