Started playing recent, can someone tell me the best characters for each style of play?

The game is like 99% RNG. You can get the 14 win norma with characters like QP, and 0 wins and 300 stars with Star Breaker. Just play with anyone you like.

@@CB-MDK pretty much that however some char are fool proof (usually tanky chars) but the simplest char to learn how to get better are the free one since they stay simple

unironically the base chars are best Fernet to stall and farm stars, Marc and Tomomo to farm wins, Poppo to be a rat

Usually the ones with at least +1 ATK are better than average. That will let you score some KO's and steal half stars. While characters with minus attack are good, its hard for them to catch up once they lose half their stars.

I could argue a more passive, defensive playstyle is potentially more effective in what is essentially an RNG based game, due to the increase in consistency it grants, with characters like Halena who are less card reliant and are good at survival like Kyoko. While you're using 1 ATK to catch up, they have tools to nail in the coffin their existing lead, having been more likely to survive in the first place. You can lose half your stars from bosses/traps they avoided. They will get L's as you've described, but they'll win a ton letting others coin flip their leads/kill themselves/each other, which is realistically frequent. Being on the board for more opportunities is extremely valuable. While you're dead, they're taking your cards, tanking bosses you've weakened. If others ignored them, you likely won't kill them healthy. Your comment make sense from an angle and maybe for a new player who wants to kill a little more starting out, I agree, but usually if a character lacks +1 there's a valid reason, rather than just being worse on avg. Some win cons are a little more luck based (the stronger they are base wise/or they go from bullied to God like Casual Tomomo), but with most of the game being RNG it truly does not matter and it's playstyle preference. There are many potent ways to play and that's why I love OJ. Popo is -1 but she's great with an amazing star stealing hyper.
