Where to buy cheap crafts and souvenirs in Cancun?
Mercado 28 in Cancun is a very famous place that you should visit if you want to buy handicrafts, Mexican candies or eat at very affordable prices in Cancun.
Don't forget to haggle on the price!!
Mercado 28 is located just 30 minutes from the hotel zone of Cancun, it is very easy to get there since the buses pass in front of the hotels and have a sign that says Mercado 28. You can also take a taxi, but agree on the price before you take it.
Eating at Mercado 28 is quite cheap, my recommendation is that you see the menu before deciding.

El Mercado 28 en Cancún es un lugar muy famoso que debes visitar si quieres comprar artesanías, dulces Mexicanos o comer a precios muy accesibles en Cancún.
No olvides regatear en el precio!
El Mercado 28 se localiza a tan sólo 30 minutos de la zona hotelera de Cancún, es muy fácil llegar ya que los autobuses pasan frente a los hoteles y tienen un letrero que dice Mercado 28. Puedes tomar también un taxi, pero acuerda el precio antes de subirte.
Comer en el Mercado 28 es bastante económico, mi recomendación es que veas el menú antes de decidir.

Read the Trip Advisor on this place… I personally had horrible experiences here. I’ve been to many markets around the world and this one was by far the one with the most aggressive and rude venders. They followed me around constantly trying to sells me “piedra maya”.

Where to get off after catching " mercado 28" bus? Also which bus to take back to hotel zone? Where to catch it? Thanks

The bus from the hotel zone will take you to the entrance of the Mercado 28. And when you finish just outside the Mercado you can catch the Bus that says HOTEL ZONE. You can ask anyone there when you arrive to the Mercado, all the shop owners know and can help you, it’s a very popular place with tourists

Hola Lizeth, cierran a las 7. Yo te recomiendo ir a desayunar o a comer, que es cuando todos los locales están abiertos. Se recorre más o menos en 1 hora, dependiendo en qué tantos locales te detengas. Más el tiempo si comes algo ahí. 😜

Not at the restaurants, only at the shops. On the restaurants the prices are on the menu but the prices are really good!
