For a company that operates in the buying and selling of goods they still don’t get it You don’t charge the buyer If you want people on your busted platform you cater to both the buyer and seller Stop hiding your bs 3.9” service protection fee Give the seller one flat fee and the buyer pays the seller with no extra on top If you want to be the man you got to beat the man and unfortunately eBay is the man when it comes to platform selling with whatnot coming up. I removed the mercari app when they started charging the seller and I don’t plan on putting it back on till they get it right Dumb ass move when you got competition on both sides and one side is the king and the other side is coming strong you don’t FK around if you want to be the king. You go for the throat This is coming up weak and ensuring they aren’t going to compete with their other competitors they gotta be hella upside down right now

Same here. I kept finding things at a good price. When added to the cart it got crazy expensive. Have not bought anything since the fees took place.

Basically: the net fees on Mercari is about the same as eBay then-under the revised fee policy. If they’re trying to be competitive and thinking long term market share: they need to do what Facebook did in the beginning only charging 5% commission then slowly increasing fees. I’m just hoping there will b an even friendlier platform for sellers n buyers to put eBay n Mercari in their place.

That was the stupidest idea they've ever had. I stopped listing things when that went down. I may start up again, but I'm seriously contemplating just going to eBay.

From 2022 to present I sold almost all of my modern Hasbro TF on Mercari. I had a more difficult time selling after the March update. Typically I would list my stuff on Mercari and eBay. Mercari would sell faster. Till the update. Then eBay took over.

I did manage one decent deal lately. I think the seller was tired of the thing not selling and just went cheap. BUT only that one buy for me. There hasn’t even been much selection.

I saw that email from them today. I think I might take some of my single listings, bundle them together, and list them that way to cut down on the number of fees I'd have to pay.

I don't understand what a "Buyer Protection Fee" is for when every country already has a similar law for that. And aren't their "Service Fee" and "Processing Fee" almost synonymous in concept? I don't recall seeing these two fees in Mondo or HobbyLinkJapan.

They probably lose a lot of money on returns or lost items and need to cover that cost but should not be charged to the buyer

funny i poked around on mercari today n the fees made no deals appealing, went back to evilbay n snagged a joe mean dog for 25 bucks out the door
