Oh wow. Yes congrats on 7k. And great to see Johnny again with another cracking car from our german friends

Thank you for a lovely afternoon and appreciating my lovely battered old Mercedes. I must give a mention to Simon of Simon’s Classics in Hebden Bridge who saved this car and who brought it back to mechanical perfection, and who twisted my arm in to taking it on

Nearly bought one 20 years ago...Same age...On the whole basis that John Peel had one and kinda raved about it! It was a roadside rot box though.

My father had one of these many years ago brought for grand some of £600 pound around 15 years ago this model of mercedes seems to last not like the early 2000s of which are some what no where near the build quality older cars are more simple and easy tk fix and of course in my eyes just better less to go wrong i just love seeing and older car still on the road that is just excellent just shows they dont build them like they used to for sure

When Mercedes cars were well engineered and built. I lived around the corner from a big Ford dealership and I remember being impressed when 'Mercedes style' rear lights appeared on Ford Granadas. Allegroman as Ringo? He'd be good at narrating 'Thomas the Tank Engine'! Now then ...😄

I liked the thing you did where you floated around Johnny Many Mercs with your thumbs up and he had his thumb up too. I would also like to remark upon how well spoken Johnny Many Mercs is, he has a nice, proper accent and excellent enunciation. I like his Mercedes, this one isn’t as respectable as the other one but that doesn’t detract from its loveliness. It may in fact enhance it as it’s a bit battle scarred and has obviously had quite a life and it’s wheels give it a rather raffish, naughty feel. It also looks like it’s front wheels are bigger than the rear ones. The only thing that would improve this car is the spectacular checked interior that some of them had. This car gets the irrelevant and uncelebrated Windy Miller Seal of Approval. I would give it a thumbs up but it wouldn’t be as good as the thumbs up you did when you floated around Johnny Many Mercs whilst he had his thumb up too.

Thank you, Mr Miller for your excellent comment. This video has many moments I really like, and thumbs bit is certainly one of them.
@johnny2scoobs1973 ай бұрын
Well Mr Miller I must thank you for your well considered comment. I thoroughly enjoyed making this video with The Captain, who really appreciates these cars. It is true that this one is more disreputable than the previous one, but it is much better behaved.

I also must now change my name to ManyMercs, despite only being on my third as opposed to the seven Subarus that have been in my possession. Thank you for that - I’ve been agonising over my re-brand for a while now.
@windymiller50583 ай бұрын
@@johnny2scoobs197Thank you for taking the time to respond to my comments. I apologise, I underestimated the depth of your Subaru history, perhaps this rebrand is a little premature, or perhaps can serve as an encouragement to own more Mercedes or perhaps it represents you at a changing time in your life. A time where you set aside the youthful pleasures of the flat four engines and the sure footed handling of rally winning all wheel drive drivetrains and settle into the more mature and cerebral pleasures of old Mercedes life. I enjoyed this look around your fine conveyance and I hope we get to see her again in the future.
@johnny2scoobs1973 ай бұрын
Subaru will always have a special place in my heart and I will doubtless dip my toes into that world again. But as you so correctly surmise - I have reached a point in my life where I value a certain level of comfort and serenity over the near inevitibility of losing my licence. Rover nearly got me there, but an old Mercedes is just more me

@johnny2scoobs1973 ай бұрын
I can assure you it is being taken care of! A lot of money has been spent on the mechanical aspects which is why it drives so well. I’m going to slowly improve it’s cosmetic appearance and the rusty bits. It will never be a show car but I intend to keep it going for many years more
