I replaced mine with a larger fan assembly, it was getting hot running the ac so I bought a larger condenser fan off Amazon and it’s very quiet and fit after removal of the bars and other junk with the OE fan.

for others out there with a 300sd, you can also opt tor replace the bearing which is relatively easy. Just replace the rivets on the housing with small bolts and nuts. If i remember correctly I just tapped threads in the rivet holes and used threaded small bolts. works like new and really helped the air conditioning. You can just get the cheaper open bearing (which the original was), instead of the contained sealed bearing if you want to save a few bucks.

Nice! I'll take it apart and check it out. Maybe we'll fix it and reinstall for another video. Thanks for the feedback!

Really nice video! Normally markings on aftermarketparts get scratched when they are showing OEM symbols or numbers, like the mercedes logo, so the manufacturer can sell it without mercedes permission. Because thats an extra effort normally only the oem manufacturer does it. So its a hint, that the part you bought is manufactured by one of mercedes oems supplier. But I dont recommend to rely on this, because some asian manufacturers fake these scratches. Keep up the great work! Greeting from a 500SE owner from Germany

this fan design is huge improvement over w124. w124 fan is so so hard to take it out.

Also thought I’d mention the replacement fan wasn’t expensive and was a very slimline fan assembly.

Good job! As long as it works, who cares where it is from.

See above. If the fan fails and you don't notice the temp gauge, the engine can overheat. Mine almost pegged until I noticed. I shut off the AC and the temp came right down.

I found a Meyle (German) fan for about $105 which was twice what a lot of the Chinese fans were going for. But since a Chinese water pump failed on my Volvo and took out the timing belt, broke a piston, and damaged the head, I am AVOIDING ALL CHINESE AUTO PARTS!

This fan is working well. I've been driving this car a lot since I've fixed so many things on it.

Looks like a 10 bucks fan out of China. But that's no bad thing, they pretty much all do.
