nice car, my 81 380sl has a becker radio in it from the factory, not sure if yours is factory or not. You are spot on, the more you drive these cars the better they run

I agree I spend a great deal of time with cold start and idle circuits in multiple cars, Auxillary air Valves in particular. I am fixing it up did have distribution block rebuilt. Plus plus plus will do video soon

They are good cars but be careful like this car you can easily sink $$$ into them. Either buy the nicest one you can find or buy a good mechanical driver you’re ok with cosmetics. So the old do as I say not as I do

I own a 76..They are the stuff of nightmares . Bosch fuel injection and ignition is so archaic and parts are not available plus most mechanics wont mess with the older SLs

I sure hope you don;t wreck that car with pin stripes. Friedrich Geigers design is perfect right out the factory and I've never understood the bizzarre American fetish for defacing it with pinstripes.

@@americandreamgarage3054 No Mercedes ever left the factory with pinstripes. That was a weired US abberation where I guess dealers were able to sucker the country club set into paying for them thinking it made them look classier. You're right it's a matter of perspective and taste. From my perspective and to my taste they just clutter up the look of the car, so I shall wage war against the concept to my dying keystroke.

I agree. I really like the old school convertibles but I’m particularly sold on the 300-560 S-Class models as well from the ‘80s.
