it seems like a lot of UK people don't think it's worth it. But that's mainly because you guys are lucky to get the A35 extremely cheap... It's ridiculous how much less it costs compared to other west-european countries. 35k pounds, which is now even less than €40k doesn't even get us an A250... the A35 costs stock €52k... And from what I'm expecting, the price difference between them won't be as big, as the A35 up here already costs a lot. I really don't understand the pricing in the UK, almost like Mercedes made a mistake and put the price of the A35 to low xD Slightly different turbo witch gives the extra amount of HP? The A45 and A45s have their own 2L 4cilinder engine coming from AMG. The A35 has the same engine as the A220 and A250 but with a different turbo and tuned by AMG. That's also the reason why the A35 doesn't have that Affalterbach emblem and signature on the engine cover, like the A45 and A45s have.

Exactly!! In Greece 57 e starting price and goes easily 75 + at the configuration!! Talking always about the a35 !! 😡

Here in Brazil there is a single AMG A 35 model that goes for around £49k without the mood lighting and with the most basic steering wheel and seats. A45s will get here in March for £64k, hopefully with all the bells and whistles. Looking forward to get it.

I drove the AMG 35 and 0-100 km/h took me 4.53 with launch control(Only me in car). I think that’s impressive.

I’ve had my a35 for a couple of months, and I’m really happy with it, for what you will have to pay for the a45 I think i would go for something else in that price bracket, nice grill though.

Mercedes only sells the A35 in my country. I wish we got the A45s. Seems perfect for a daily. It's small for tight car parks and it's not as ludicrous as an E63s.

I was going to get the standard A45 but decided not and went for the A35. I'm glad I did, for one the standard A45 isn't coming to the UK and I think there's plenty of power and fun to be had in an A35. The A45s is beast no doubt, but as everyone says what's the point if you're not going to go to the track and £50k for a hatchback is bonkers!

Very nicely produced video I’m just not sure reading the brochure/spec sheets ‘works’ as a format I thought your CLS/RS7 videos worked better. Personally I think the best format is two in a car having a ‘normal conversation’

No problem with screenshots I think that is a good way to get a lot of info across quickly i was meaning more what you were saying felt like you were reading a brochure rather than driving the car and saying what you thought but I appreciate in this case one car was not there and the other was not a press car.

Well that's a difficult decision.... A major plus for the a35 is you can order it with a remote heating system which is a great thing for cold days we have in northern Europe. But I think the a35 isn't cheap enough compared to the a45.... Finally very difficult decision. I like the 8speed dct more.... But won't miss the remote heater as well....

Yep! If you spec the ‘AMG Style package’ it comes with the 19’ wheels, night pack and aero pack. It’s £2295 as an option in the UK. Hope this helps! -Christian

I took the A35 on a test drive and used launch control and it pulled the blood from the front of my face, a35 aside i dont see why you want more than 350 HP for the public roads, on a track the a45 would be the choice, but for small twisty roads in london i would not go any higher than 350HP and i cant see any reason to pay 20K for the pleasure, i have the money for an a45 but decided to be sensible and keep some cash and my licence and opted for a better equipped a35. we live in a world where we are chasing faster and faster and not being satisfied with the power we have, put the a35 in the car market when an EP3 type R was considered quick and we can talk.

Pricing has gone haywire. I had the phase 1 A45, it was 38k base and i paid 48k with options. Max was 52k. 52K is now the A45 base, 60k+ for decent spec. The 35 is 35k base, easy 40k plus for decent spec......hard to justify a mass produced 2ltr price point compared to the original true hand built. End of the day, buying an A35 comes down to snobbery over the true 2ltr awd king which is the golf R.

The exterior "upgrade" is worth no more than £300. Get an aftermarket pan Americana grill and a couple of double exhaust tips and there you go. The night package, 19" AMG wheels and aero pack are available to the A35 already.
