QALibrary Not too bad, you can set a guide line in the MirrorCam monitor to mark the position to the back of the trailer

@@stavros969 How do they perfomr at night... I can see that weheicles from behind can not blend as in a normal mirror. But how do they perfomr, does the screen emit anoying background light. Du they "dim" light from front light, from rear comming wehicles to help keep night vision ? Do they become propper black / dimmed during night use, to keep drivers night vision intact... I bet you could do a good real world test, if permitted to borrow one. I bet a lot of viewers would like to see your thought on that. Kind regards Brian

Am I the only American would kill to have trucks like this? I am not even a trucker, except I want a race car hauler with built in living quarter that I will drive myself. I am so envy what Europeans access to these wonderful products. Here I want a cabover to minimize the overall length, which means the only choices are 20 years or older.

I'm a huge fan of Mercedes Benz actros trucks and I really like this one with mirror cam and touch screens and Mercedes star that lights up at night

Nice review. Funny that the language in the screens are Danish on a right-hand-drive. I live in Denmark, we have left-hand drives. As standard it should be English with option to change language. And yes, cruise control in Danish is fartpilot.. The speed depends on the amount of cabbage you eat every day... LOL.

Hi Stavros, Volvo used to do a similar thing years ago. I remember getting a new Fh Globetrotter way back in 2003 and it had a clipboard that had groves in it that would fit over the steering wheel.

Just an Observation here: The Digital Driver Info Displays & the Steering Wheel are alot like from the 2022 Western Star & Freightliner Cascadia Trucks in North America. I drive those in the American Truck Simulator (PC Game) from SCS Software. They have a very good working relationship with Daimler Trucks! Nice Actros there too ;)!

Mate I drove one over here in Australia as a BDouble worse truck I've ever driven & that's saying something.Its nice inside but the bunk is small you can't really see the dash if the sun is on it,& you couldn't move the monitors you'd need a day to work out where controls are because it's not like you can feel around for a switch, it's all touch screen.Personally why play around with mirrors they've been hanging off the sides of trucks since trucks were built & now you have these monitors to deal with,they were shocking you couldn't even see the back of your trailer & trying to reverse,well that was a whole new experience especially into a dock. I don't know why you want to play with something that's not broke,you designers need to spend a few weeks in a few working trucks & you'll see what I mean. Overall I'd give it 4...

I've been driving the Actros for a year now (the basic one) with 480 hp from 2020 and the worst I've noticed were the seats,the gearbox and the cabin suspension,very uncomfortable,also not sure about going up hills when loaded, it's like a dead horse,the Actros doesn't like hills at all 😁

another great review stavros, in reality the actros is lacking in torque and the ride quality is bad and appalling when unladen , even with around 500hp, but the cab inside is brilliant and its a super looking truck from the outside, on a childish note i love the engine snorting on downshifts :)

Mirror Cams are pain to get use .The monitors need to be QLED technology from LG, and the camera to be HD resolution to compete with ordinary mirrors. Oh, btw...the camera being out of sight are so easy to crash them into a tree branches and similar obstacles, just because you don't see them to consider them. I busted the one on right side when a ferry crew member was squeezing me into a very tight spot. What would I suggest to MBenz is to make those cameras fully retractable into the cabin for those special places we end up to load/unload or park from time to time.

I have talked to 3 drivers that are using trucks with cameras for mirrors and none of them like them. They are really bad at night especially with LED lights that give a strobing effect and you can not just move your head a bit to change the view out of them. 😳🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🤠

The Volvo FH4 has a similar clipboard that sits on the steering wheel. Daimler has definitely tried to improve the interior quality on this new Actros (MP5). This Actros 1 is clearly aimed at owner drivers/pride of a companies fleet, but how long will these gizmos last? As the MP4 Actros is notorious for things falling off, when you just look at them.

hey Stavros, love your videos and i have a request do you have or can you make a video how you need to shift a truck, i got my C-license here a month ago in the Netherlands but instead of properly shifting i was flipping the gears with a lever behind the wheel, now it counts as shifting but if i ever come with a company where they have manuals i am screwed, i video or some tips would be appreciated. greeting from a new driver from Holland

Most trucks if not all are automatic now so I wouldn’t worry. I haven’t drove a manual truck for over 6 years now and all the trucks in the company I drive for are auto. Manual is a thing of the past.
